because the glass is cheaper to replace and doesnt damage the integrity of the car, if they shoot the door, the plate inside and the outer shell would have to be replaced, and thats more espensive and unnecesary cause it's like shooting a steel plate...

@@rockwithyou2006 Because they only shot 1 bullet in the same spot, and scatterd them. So all we know from this entire video is that it can stop a 5.56 bullet once. And then the window is completely shattered so any follow up rounds would go through the window.

I know that this comment was made ten months ago, but respectfully sir, I'd like to disagree. This vehicle is well protected against limited aggression. Wealthy clients in dangerous countries (Somalia, S Africa, Syria, Afghanistan, etc) could make good use of this vehicle, but for TRUE urban warfare and medivac, I'd prefer something tougher, like a Marauder, Knight XV, or a Teradyne. All of those can take large explosive warheads and still function just fine.

400lbs doors would be a LOT more than AR500 bullet-proof, armor plating. The glass was probably easily replaceable while the paint job probably was not.

For those curious:
There are multiple performance standards for armour types. When discussing civilian vehicles in the United States, the most common standard applied is the EN1063 code written by the European Committee for Standardization. These numbers use the letter B followed by a number, and the higher the number, the greater protection it provides. In the case of Rezvani vehicles, the highest armour level applied is B7. The standards to meet B7 armour is to protect against a single short of 10.8g(166-grain), 7.62mm(.30 caliber) armour-piercing ammunition traveling at a velocity of 868m/s(2850fps).
They likely tested a window here, opposed to a body panel, for a couple of different reasons.
1) The window will be cheaper and easier to replace than the body panel. Remember, this is still Rezvani's vehicle that they're going to want to sell.
2) Windows are targeted more often in a shooting, and tend to be more vulnerable than body panels.
3) A ballistic window is intended to "catch" a bullet, whereas the body panel will more likely lead to spalling and a ricochet, presenting a safety hazard.
I would have liked to see more comprehensive testing as well, but I understand why they didn't.

@Benny Liang those windows are only good for a few rounds of 5.56, a single burp press of a minigun would send about 20 7.62 down onto almost the exact same spot and would penetrate this ballistic glass no problem.

Looks like the engine isn't protected from the front. Does it have armor in the front to protect the engine?
My thoughts exactly. A few rounds into the radiator and the engine will quickly overheat. Problem is you can't protect the radiator because you need the air flow to cool the engine. This is likely its biggest weakness. Regardless it's still a beast.
