Don't bother. 30% of energy produced in the world in 2023 was from renewables. By 2030, oil will be $10 a barrel or less. Oil companies can turn their drilling rigs into geothermal power plants if they want to keep making money.

That's funny but also a real worry when people can't even read.
They printed the names without the actual spelling. The teacher was attempting to read the phonetic version off the list. I would have trouble with it. The real spelling would be instantaneous though. Maybe a couple errors in personal desires of how to pronounce a name, but hey..
That University really needs to grasp the idea that we are now in the 21st century, and in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual world. Disrespectful and lazy of presenter to not bother learning how to pronounce names beforehand? Patronising to the presenter to give her supposedly phonetic versions? Either or both, the event was badly planned and managed. For those young people and their proud families it should have been a perfect celebratory recognition of their achievements.

What those kids at Thomas Jefferson University experienced is something that happens to people with non European based names every day of the week.
A lot of those names were European based
The problem is that a McDonalds’ meal cost an hour of work. My handyman (fully employed) told me he has to meal plan and freeze meals. For him Arby’s is a treat.
