@@Achintyanath While I agree, a father's involvement is very 'short' in a child's birth. The mother is the one who grows the child in her womb for months. Which could be why very often mothers are attached to their children, even more than their husbands.

Don't know why nobody is talking about the core "Shakti" itself as "Mother" behind every existence...
This is the sheer brilliance of Thakur Ramkrishna who ask us to chant only "MAA" or "MOTHER" .... Everybody on earth can relate to "Mother" irrespective of socio cultural religious background... So simple yet so brilliant
It's also surprising how a person like you who has been born and brought up in a totally different social scenario is now talking about "Mother" ....

For me Mother is everything. In Uttara Kaula there is only Kali worshipped
Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. What a heartwarming and simple style M used in it. Went through two times that bulky book. Every time felt his personal presence during the reading. Namaskaram.

I am from Bengal and know Ramkrishna paramhans.I know the story as Guruji M said but I am impressed by the story telling of Guruji.Pranam Guruji.
Greatness of Indiam saints is that inspite of undercurrent of same spirituality flowing they were so unique and different in their external behaviour.
He was made jivanmukta by the grace of Lord Krishna.
I have them.. all vedantha, geeta and all scriptures of all kind are simplified in a very simple manner.
Ramakrishna Paramhansa was the first priest of a huge temple in Kolkata which was under Rani Rashmani - He used to be in village but He was priest of a v famous temple of Maa Kali in Daknishwar ....
