This is Sad! As a tax payer in SF I would like to know how the board, Mayor and school board feels this is right? or even legal for that matter? Money earmarked in a voted bond is for that not what ever the city feels like! So now the board needs to fix this and make it right to the tax payers!
I get that several commenters see better uses for the money but when people vote to have money used for a specific purpose it is wrong and should be illegal to use it else where. Why vote on these measures if they are just fundraisers for anything the SF gov wants to use the $ for.
I voted against this. The Art School is on a safe part of the city, right above Glen Park. I have known students who have gone there as well as teachers. Art happens as long as there are talented students with a space to foster that talent.
It’s hard for kids to even get into that school. VanNess is a busy street and they need to build that school as the bond was voted on and approved. This is is typical smh. A lot of parents have moved with their children outside of sf.
I was a pedestrian commuter in that wonderful arts area in the middle of San Francisco in the 'good old days'. What I saw makes me say, "it is far cheaper to pay to park the buses to go there, from your nice comfortable SAFE & Green location, than pay for these student's rehab later. Teachers take a long walk in that area ... then let the kids fix the roof with some weird sculpture project.

Your whole City is falling apart and you want to build the Art School now. Take that money and hire 100 Police officers.
Corruption as Usual…. tricked you again… Must be nice to play with other peoples money and not do what you said you would do…
Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

S.F. needs that money to meet the demands of the homeless
@Reality Check But the homeless has priority, they gets half a billion $$ a year.
SF is dying
@@SFPhiloAnd, most of that money to “help the homeless” is being squandered too. No oversight and political “administration fees”.
The SF GOV need the money to pay black people $5 mill per and $150k for life.
How is that a thing being considered? That will restore the buying power of the USD.😂
@@realbhopwood On the bright side, black people will get a taste of getting carjacked, robbed, assaulted, and looted. What goes around, comes around.
Good spend the money on something that will actually educate people
Somehow that is not illegal?
So, the money for this went to renaming schools during the pandemic. Okay.
An audit needs to be done on all sf spending.

No kids no schools
using pandemic as an excuse and using the money for the school, normal.
Sf needs another art school like a hole in the head

The voters have spokeN! The park belongs to us. We voted and paid for it. So don’t subvert the will of the voters
The heart of the arts is also an area filled with homeless drug addicts and mentally ill.
But they wanna build more housing in an already crowded area
Everyone is leaving SF, why build new buildings?
Change the name. Resubmit project to voters
Welp…. That’s typical of SF
I went to that school its a wonderful high school definitely deserve everything they have been told they would deserve
Outside audit
Disgrace
wow classic sf
This state the dirtiest state in the nation
The public school system is going on strike for more money. Your losing the basics and nagging about an art school.
We must boycott the bond measure and let the schools rot.
