Leave on the rare sticker no matter how damaged it is. It's basically the axe theory at this point. If you replace the Handle of an axe and then later on the head of an axe. If it needs to be restored than people care about it being as close to the original as possible with as many original parts are possible.
Everyone is talking bout the sticker, and I'm over here wondering why you didn't try to carefully buff out the scratches on the screen protector with some 1500 grit wet sand paper, and plastic polish to finish?
I clean and refurb/restore lots of these kind of things too. I don't suggest using an exacto knife to scrape away that dirt and grime. Let it soak in hot water with some dish soap, or I also like to use Simple Green. Toothbrush works great for edges and hard to get places. But a scratch pad works wonders for the main surface. So does Magic Erasers, just be careful since those will remove any painted logos if you're not careful. The Magic Eraser can also get rid of minor scratches.

I knew that after that top plate was removed the only thing holding it on was the pads but even knowing that I still managed to rip 2 off when I was cleaning the inside of the switch with a que tip.
Takes film off screen, puts face down on dirty mat.... (ノಥ益ಥ)ノ Nice tip tho on how to remove the switch cover.
worst tip ever if you watch as he rplaces it the first join he removed he has actually damaged and slightly lifted the contact pad from the pcb. best practice is to completely remove the switch so that heat is appleid to the board for the shortest period of time possible and then disassemble or replace
