I was at this game, and I have to say your fans were some of the best fans I have ever met. They were polite, they cheered when they were winning, they didn't talk trash they were just happy for their team. This was an amazing game (dispite the score) and im glad I was there.
I was at this game, we were just a few of a couple hundred ND fans there, and they were total underdogs in this game but what I do remember the most is how salty Oklahoma fans were after the game haha
OU should have won this game, but what happened was Notre Dame walked into Norman, and put on possibly their best performance of the season thus far. I had to tip my hat off to this team. Much respect.
I'd just like to go on record as saying I NEVER doubted Notre Dame before this game. Too Many Analysts thinking Golson doest have a clue. NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!!!
So, with Notre Dame having a good performance, and Oklahoma not having a good performance, AND ND winning the game 30-13, please explain how "OU should have won this game"...
The Irish had a good game against Oklahoma. Lifetime between the 2 schools ND was 8-1 against the Sooners prior to this game and I was hoping for a good performance from OU. Of course, in the end, ND showed that they were deserving winners so congrats to them. During the game, I felt ND controlled the game to earn the win. While OU lost, I felt this game motivated the Sooners to improve themselves for the following year - a year in which they went back to ND to control the Irish with an equally impressive 35-21 win at South Bend.
OU was playing some of it's best football during the 3 weeks prior to this game, winning by an average of 52-16. OU was hot going into this game, but Notre Dame outplayed them. If you read my comments, you'll see that I gave ND their due. I hope you're not trying to pick a fight with me.
Its hard to say how this year, 2013, the match up will go. We probably will find out if we have a game early, when they both play their opener. ND will have to be favored, but this is college football and O.U. can field some talented players. That funny shaped ball can bounce away from you or right in your hands. Sometimes one or two players change a game. Sometimes one or two plays change a game. This is why we like this game played on the field for 4 quarters and not on paper. Cheers
Boilermaker, I think the comment was referring to the fact that Oklahoma was playing at home and the teams were fairly evenly matched and the home team usually has the advantage.. The score was tied at 13 with about 5-6 minutes, right?
