Hit 70 today on my FX SVHO Limited. Acceleration is insane while stability is fantastic and it handles like a dream. Bites hard on turns if you want it to. Great machine.

The tail storage is for your tow rope. There's a groove at the top that goes up towards the tow hook . That means no unhooking when storing you rope when not being used . I have 2017 unit . The two lever ride system is a godsend .

I was thinking in one of this. Now, If you live in Fl (I do) and you use it for off-shore fishing lets say 3 weekends a month (would be like 4 hrs a weekend = 16hrs a month) Thats its a total of 200 hrs a year. How you estimate will last this pwc before have to do it mayor maintenance. Or what is going to be the mayor repairs will be have to be done?

I am picking up the VX Cruiser HO tomorrow. 65 MPH top speed. It has the 1812 cc 1.8 liter engine like the SVHO without the supercharger.
I was told by a salesman the supercharged engine would need to be rebuilt every 100 Hours. Not sure if that is accurate, but that along with the significant price difference led me to get the VX Cruiser HO.

I’m happy with my 2019 VXR HO.
To many storage areas in my 2018 GTX 300 I can sit on the seat and access a super large storage area with this rig you really need to be off of it access the largest storage area
best review ever.. i have a FZR and have never had a single issue with it 2009, 268 hrs runs like a champ the sho/svho are the best engines on the planet! i hope they never change them. if it aint broke dont fix it. a litle more power would be nice. folks push them to over 500 with ni issues yamaha could go to the new industry standard of 300 safely and add a depth finder. if you want to stay out of the repair shop buy a yamaha, if you want to become a mechanics best friend then be sure to buy a seadoo...
dana v Truer words never spoken. I have a 2011 VXS and not one single issue. Change the oil after every 25 hours and flush after every use. 228 hours and still rolls like thunder.
Completely agree, Seadoos are garbage. Ive owned both and the quality and engineering of Seadoos compared to yamaha isn't even close.

Every year they come out with the "newest baddest, fastest ski" but what they dont tell u is that no matter what per regulation they cant exceed 75mph on the water for public sale lol so no matter what since like 2012 or when ever they came out with the 1800cc engines, they dont get any faster top end since then, just new accessories and styles. Yamaha is still the best out there imo. I absolutely love my 07 fxho, reliable and still havent had any issues since I got it brand new out the crate💯

I own one of those. There are ride modes. You go into the speed control and can limit speed and acceleration. The default mode is basically sport mode. Mine does 70 WOT. It would have been nice if you measured it with a vbox or something like that that's more accurate and time your acceleration. The rear compartment is for wet items like shoes and ropes. The tray drains link to the bilge pump and work much better when the engine is running at speed. It'll empty full footwells in seconds.
Just bought 2014 model and can't wait to swap it out for 2019 next year. Yamaha is the best pwc period

coast guard limits US PWC to 69 so throw a riva bypass on you'll get 74, did that to my old gp1800
I was wondering why all jet skis I’ve seen that are supercharged all stop at 69. That makes sense though

It's selling right now for around $16k. Not as much as I thought it would be, I was thinking in the $18k range. But still a chunk of dough. Worth every penny if you want the best of the best.

Just did it today on a brand new Yamaha SVHO went airborne aROUND 3feet. Landed hard thought I busted the hull.
I love this new Yamaha but you mentioned it had better storage than the seadoo and that would be false. My 2018 rxtx has more storage space. That touch screen looks really sharp. Nice review.
The 2019 Sea-Doo RXT-X 300 has a total of 27.1 US gal of storage space.
The 2019 Yamaha FX Cruiser has 44 US gal of storage space.
So the Yamaha is bigger when it comes to storage. Thanks for watching!

For sure. I have a Sea-Doo GTI, and if I were to eyeball the storage, I would say it's about the same.
But on paper, the Yamaha claims to have a decent amount more.
I think the small trunk storage on the back is what really puts them over the top, however the glovebox on this thing is also huge.

We're currently working to start reviewing some new Sea-Doo models, though in our part of the world, it's already too cold for PWCs. So don't expect it for a while!

Rubber clip in dash storage is based on new WATERPROOF GOVE BOX, the rear tiny storage is actually the FLUSH OUT Connector plus you can put sandals or wet dock ropes in there. GREAT REVIEW
That back space can be used to put your sandals when you ride

you forgot to mention that the gas fill is now on the outside and on the other side of the ski and the storage on top where the gps holder is, is no longer there.
This is a great ride, but if you lose the supercharger, you can run regular gas and ride a lot farther with the FX Cruiser HO.
We don't need eco mode. WOT is the only needed mode!! Sick Beast!!!

After seeing this I'm so glad I bought a 2017 GTX 300 Sea-Doo. Lovin-it. Completely satisfied even 2 yrs later. Best pwc out of five I have owned. Touch screen on a pwc is just plain gimmicky. To the person who said Yamaha says lower HP to keep insurance down is bulls**t..This just flat out can't compete with the GTX-300.
The svho on a dyno are 306 hp so comon with your sea-poo
YOu can pay $500 for a map tuner and be in the 70's when you flash the ECU and get past the 69mph limiter. 85mph can be had with a riva stage 1 plus. 90+ mph is possible with this model's sister.
I wish you could lease them, because after a year I would probably want to sell it.

I like this model. However, I believe I prefer my FZS (2009) due to its simplicity. The gauges are old school needle. A quick glance and you are in tune with the vitals. Ten years still going strong.
Fuel percentage keeps changing. Is that due to the small waves?

1999 I got my first ultra 150. Shimmed the pump had 5 took 2 out. Hit 72 on GPS at a radar shoot the next summer. Budy of myn sent his to skat track and it was way faster and handled better. Shame 20 years later they haven't gotten any faster just way more expensive!

Restricted through a "handshake" or "gentlemen's" agreement. They have stock jet ski drag races and they're going faster than 70mph. An example is a Kawasaki doing 78mph th-cam.com/video/4Z5K7MADa3Q/w-d-xo.html

I am replacing one of my Jet skis next year...I own a 2010 RXT 255 and 2010 SVHO, can’t decide to go with Yamaha or BRP
8:30 actually i love that very much. my seadoo gti se has a plastic handle and it broke because i live in a hot place with big waves to the plastic got a little brittle and broke when i hit a wave. My neighbors older Yamaha wave runner experienced the same issue .

All PwC are limited to 69 mph stock by the coast guard. Is you mess with the computer they will go faster.

How are you able to get the machine to do the 70 mph? Did you have to let it warm up for 30 minutes to unlock the full speed?

Drive modes blow. Most Manuf. put them into Economy when you first turn them on, instead of last setting.
A touch screen on a jet ski.. wow Yamaha. Although I do LOVE the foot well drain.. that is so key. But, I'll stick with my seadoo... lol

I bought a new 2018 fx ho..i.love it great fuel economy for a big ski .im 6f5 so I love the big ski..but I started getting crazy with it .n i think id like the fx svho more..
Kawasaki is a 1500 cc engine and it's 310 horsepower with a Eaton supercharger .
Thank you very much for a very informative review, the negative comments are obviously made by envious people, quite pathetic really! I was going to get this, but they’re sold out, so will be getting the updated version in early 2020! I love the colour touch screen. I was thinking of getting a Sea-Doo, they look better, but I get the feeling they would feel more cheap to the touch, I could be wrong! I like Yam’s reliability, but think they should have better colours. In my opinion the best colours are a mostly black with some red or mostly black with some yellow or orange and black.
Good review TFL.. For one you didn't call it a JetSki, because it isn't one, and you did a nice job describing all the features.. That latch for the glove box does seem annoying, a strange design by Yamaha.

Great informative vid! HOWEVER... to the person who did the sound editing: The background music is a little too loud and slightly drowns out the verbal audio. Other than that...fantastic vid!
The glove box rubber holder is better than the plastic clip. They brake to easy, no i had to remove my lid of my gpr. Hit a wave and it broke, wont look it in place.

If they had incorporated a gps speed sensor and navigation with Navionics style app into new speed cluster ..then they could brag.
The cheap rubber fittings for the hatches compared to the previous models is a turn off.
I love Yamaha ... but I’m disappointed with this updated model.
My 2003 FX cruiser goes faster then paying 22k for a new one. So sad they keep jacking the prices.

I’m debating between the gp1800 and the rxtx 300
I ended up buying the rxtx. It over heated once cause of a bad hose clamp on the water pump and whenever my son beats on it hard the engine light comes on. For the amount of money you pay for it that shouldn’t happen. I also have a gtx 230 that we beat the life out of and it has no problems at all.
French Frys from what the dealer is saying my son is engaging the tilt meter. He’ll ride the ski completely sideways in the water or completely under the water to the point where the computer thinks the ski is upside down. Iv told him not to go so hard on the side and we haven’t had a problem since. Iv never rode a Yamaha but I’ll tell you the rxtx is crazy fun depending on what mode your in. If you do get it get it with the sound system
I had a 1998 XL-1200, 135hp... fast forward 2019 and 250hp later and it only goes 70mph, extra 115hp should go 110 mph+... lol Should have kept the 1200... I did 72mph easily, 10 years ago, for $7000 less and it looked better. Touch screen, 3 step seat... and no reverse? Storage is for what? It's a flashy looking high priced toy. lol
All pwc in usa have speed limited at 69. You can unlock the speed limiter and they will do about 78 mph
@@smiller3110 They are marketing Lamborghini performance, while it's over powered for what it actually does. 250hp on a jon boat that only does 70? I had a 15hp 10' Jon boat that would do 35mph, 40 years ago. 250hp on a 21' boat would do 70 pretty easy. Sounds good though and I'm sure it's fun. Mine was a blast.

Does Kawasaki PWC still exist? I hope so. When's their 2019 release date? Man I miss the golden age of PWCs which was the nighties with so many manufacters.
The Kawasaki JetSki(the only one you can actually call a JetSki) does exist and is still reliable and awesome,and still have sturdy hulls that ride best in rough water.. Unfortunately their marketing is absolute garbage as is their motivation to come out with any new hull designs and modern features. It's kinda sad actually, Yamaha and SeaDoo are light years ahead in those areas..

Kawasaki are not dead. Still committed to carrying on the jet ski line. They don’t need to change their hull it’s still the best in class. They are still the most powerful but are no longer the quickest either in acceleration or top end. I hope they don’t start adding all the gimmicks Yamaha and BRP are going for. They should just try and reduce the weight.

180 hp the HO naturally aspirated engine and 250 HP the SVHO.
