I love these crosssing of streams b/w the two networks covering the draft. Be it Mel on NFL Network, or Kurt here. Hope they do for this for the NBA draft as well. Would love to see what Isiah/Steve Smith have to say about the upcoming NBA draft.

Drake Maye needs a lot of work. He’s closer to Mitch Trubisky than he is to Josh Allen.
Anthony Richardson was a top pick, despite being worse than Drake Maye. AR was drafted all because of his athletic ability. He sucked in college. Maye lead the ACC in passing last 2 years in a row. But nobody cried and made a fuss about AR being a top pick. Wonder why?

I been saying this kid isn’t worth the 2nd pick in the draft. Not the best athlete his accuracy is off and he played in ACC mid conference. I see nothing special about him.
I too see nothing special in Daniels, playing against LOW SEC TALENT = Mizzu, Ole Miss, Arkansas, A&M, and some of these games LSU barley got by or lost. Bama humiliated LSU and Stickman. Look at LSU's schedule and results. Nothing much. Shall I go on...
@@abeycr Toughest opponent Maye went up against was NC State his best game of the year came against Campbell University stop it kid got bust potential written all over him. Daniel’s won Heisman. Maye wasn’t even thought of in the discussion
@@flyparks3224daniels was also playing with two nfl caliber receivers with Nabers being a guy who can be a star receiver in the nfl. Look at Mayes numbers his first year starting when he had Josh downsx
If you go back and look at tapes of pre-draft evals of QB busts, they all say. "Well he's inconsistent and innacurate at times......" You don't win in the NFL with "special throws". You win when the QB completes 20-25 ordinary throws every game and doesn't throw picks (inaccuracies in scouting)
Maye is going to be fine in the right circumstances. Yeah he needs work, but that’s most QBs coming out. It’s up to the coaching staff to draw out that potential.

Exactly and it was never “the ravens are failing him” it’s always “Lamar has no excuses” lol Allen supposedly “better” but the narratives around them are completely different

Gonna sound weird but I think although there are a ton of 1st and early 2nd round QBs this year I think JJ Mccarthy will be the best out of all of them and become an above average pro. Jayden Daniels has a small frame and worked with 2 WRs who were among the 2 best in this draft at generating seperation so I don't think he's as good as advertised. Maye to me looks a little unpolished, I think he has good potential and needs to land in a patient organization. I think Caleb will be fine out of the gate, the Bears have a ton of weapons and he should at least be solid. Penix to me is the best thrower of the football this draft but his injury concerns being a lefty will be something to keep him off boards. Not a big Bo Nix guy, he's accurate and I think could be successful on a team with an elite defense, I don't think he's a very big force multiplier. I believe JJ is just a good all around QB and really doesn't care how he wins which is rare for some of these hotshot top prospect QBs. I don't think the QB class is close to as strong as it seems. WR this year is clearly the biggest value, along with CB and I believe OT and OG are incredibly deep.
So who is Mahomes number 1, maybe Kelce fits that bill. How about cutting Kincaid some slack last quarter he became Allen's go to not Diggs or Davis. After Kincaid Shakir was top of the list and he didn't disappoint.

Maye goes anywhere else, and he will struggle; just like he did with a suss o-line.....and suss rec's in the 2nd year.
I really want Maye to get with the Vikes. It's the spot that will show the world what he's about... and he's about that GAME brother. He's so focused and has an arm that we haven't seen in years out of college. CWilliams looks great too.... but he ain't throwing that rock at mach10
If I was a GM i'd just take Marvin Harrison Jr. and draft a Penix Jr, instead of roll the dice on some of these QBs

The SEC has a knack for developing NFL-ready players, because it's a jungle of competition and good teams. That is good for Jayden Daniels. However, let's not pretend that the ACC can't produce good quarterbacks. Matt Ryan could be a Hall of Famer, and he came from the ACC. But North Carolina has never produced a single great NFL quarterback up until this point.
So why is he a top pick if he has all these bad mechanics???

@@slimvickins5059 Drake Maye put numbers up when his team was down 20-0. Richardson played in SEC. Maye played in ACC mid conference. CJ Stroud went #2 last year Maye not even close to his level I’d take Penix and Bo Nix over Maye but we will see
