Hey Kim. I buy a lot from Dreamer Designs because I love Kurtis Rykovich, and one or two other artists that I've found there. But, I've always experienced some issues with their squares. Often I find them to be fairly gappy, and gapping can be a real pain. That said, once the glue dries a little, it does make the gaps less noticeable. My favourite stores for squares are DAC and Ever Moment. I haven't found another store to match those two in terms of quality of their squares. But, I'll continue to order from Dreamer Designs because I do really enjoy their canvasses. Hugs.
I’m doing “Life Above The Fray” now from dreamer, and I am not having the gap issue? Again, an old version. Very strange. I felt the older version of DAC had gap issues on some as well. But not the new at all! And if you haven’t tried Oraloa’s squares, you are missing out. My favorite grid to drill size ratio by far. Diamond Painting Deutschland is AMAZING as well ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Ps I’m still a huge dreamer fan! I have plenty in my stash. And will continue to buy more! I need to do a new version of square to compare! 🤗
Hi Kim, check out Diamond Painting with Laura. I believe she did that Diamond Painting and I think she had the same issues. It does look very pretty. Enjoy your vacation
Beautiful painting. It’s going to look lovely when framed. ❤ If I have a lot of color blocking….. I single place & do the checker board method. It doesn’t give me those gapping lines. I can single place pretty fast. I don’t get bored with it. Nice chat…. Keep up the great job.
Thanks Peggy! When I saw the gapping, I knew I should have switched to single placing, but I didn’t want to lol 😭😭😭 I just put the canvas away yesterday, and when I was going through the other canvases and stacking, it really stuck out how much gapping was in it. But I’m not having that problem with life above the fray at all? So strange. Thanks again for watching! 😘😘
Hi Bella! Thank you! I do love this image, and I highly recommend landscapes! I love them! ❤️❤️ I did autumn oasis from dreamer designs, and wow. That is amazing! 😍
Thanks Kim. I do totally love this image and can almost feel that ocean breeze coming in that window. I do see what you mean about the white AB's..not as sparkly as usual. I hate large color blocking on light colors as now matter what company I feel like I see gaps..and that makes me nuts. I have tried using the mica power on light colors and I can say it works really well. There are a few people that have videos on this technique and it worked well for me. It is still such a beautiful finish Kim. Have a great week!
Hi Carol, I think you’re right! The light colors are definitely less forgiving! But I have zero issues with my current Bella Art diamonds image which is very color blocking and light pastels. Soooo I do think the grid comes into play a little with this one too. Still absolutely love this image though! I feel like the breeze is brushing my hair and tickling my face 🥰🥰🥰 Hope you’ve been having a wonderful October! Sorry it took so long to respond 😭😭
I love the DP I didn't notice the grid be gapping until you really pointed it out. I didn't know there were AB'S until you asked if they were noticed but I still really love it and think it's beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Denise! Thankfully the image and rendering is gorgeous! Helps put aside the flaws. But honestly when I pulled it out for my month and review, I couldn’t get past the gapping! It looked worse to me. I guess when I put it up against all the others it just stands out. My current dd isn’t like that at all! I’m still a DD fan! Just not crazy about this particular finish 😢
It is certainly a beautiful cand I think you did a great job with it. I think the gaping is more noticeable where there are more solid colors. I always thought their ABs were duller than other companies too. ❤😊❤
Kim It came out so beautiful. I found clot blocking does leave those gaping marks and I can tell on my when I change colors. What I found out that eliminates it sometimes is placing a row or two of single drills when you have multiplace for a bit. I found when I multiplace it's not as clean so I go back through and clean it up as much as possible. And the lighter colors. I believe you are right about multiplacing lighter colors it shows so much that you don't want to see compare to single placing. Lately I have been finding out the ABs from the two premium channels haven't been all that sparkling. I have a lot of trash from top one. The one I am going to do in Nov with Angie the 3 bags of white ABs are not all that sparkling. Not sure if I want to order new ones from Teemah as these that came with kit don't seem all that good. But anyways thanks for sharing. Love you my friend💖🦋
Hi Tammy! Yeah I definitely find it more obvious on light colored areas. I don’t think I can single place a large color blocked area. It would make me bananas! Confetti yes, no problem. 😂😂 Love you too friend ❤️❤️
Super pretty finish. Dreamer designs is one of those companies that has a softer sheen ab coating on their ABs. You aren’t the first to complain about it. Their more recent canvases are tighter grids though.
Hey Jess! I’m very excited to try one of the new canvases and see! And that is interesting about the AB’s! I was like, why can’t I find them??? So strange. Are the new kits with better abs?
You do a beautiful job with your paintings I prefer round drills but I get frustrated with the gaping. I wish i had the patience to do squares. It seems like they fit together more than rounds. Also, I wish they could get drills to be the same size.
Thank you! I love love square Diamond paintings. I prefer them! I just prefer ngaps too 😅😅😅 but the dreamer designs I’m working on now is not gappy like this! 🤗🤗
Thank you for the completion review. Someone else mentioned that the ABs were not as sparkly as they thought they should be on Dreamer’s. I just don’t know if it was an old kit too. Have you tried the mica powder for the spaces? I understand it works very well. Beautiful picture and nice finish. Peace and love abide with you 💕
Thanks Bev! Yeah some people said they’ve heard that about dreamers AB’s. I have to say it is very obvious in person! If I didn’t do the painting, I would never know there were AB’s in it! I will have to try the mica powder one day. On a painting that I really want to hang but am not happy with the results and see. 🥰🥰
Hi Kim! Hope you and Bob are doing good. I’m catching up on your videos today. I am on my second Dreamer canvas. The first was Autumn Oasis. I’m on Christmas Cindy now. In about the same area on the Autumn picture and on Cindy that you had I have had issues with gapping is where I had and am having gapping issues. But in other places it’s impossible to get the drills directly in the grid. In my opinion, their grids are not completely even. I spent time on the Autumn Oasis placing with the tweezers on the bottom. I completed two sections (4*6) with them. I ran in to places that there was no way possible to put them directly on the grid, the drill over lapped in places, making my placements beside each drill a little off too. After about 10-15 drills were down, then I’d place them and there was no way to get them to touch with out going over the grid. I took pictures of it. I’m having the same issue with Cindy. It really sounds like they have some grids that are 1-2 millimeters off from being accurate. It maybe that designers can’t get them 100% accurate. 🤷🏼♀️ The pic is so pretty! Thank You for the review! Blessings ❤
Hi Danelle! I didn’t have issues with Autumn Oasis grid personally but I have heard of this issue. This particular canvas, I feel like the grid is too big causing the gapping. I don’t know why they can’t get the grid right to be honest. Oraloa, DAC, Bella Art etc all have been able to do a great job of it. So it is definitely possible! I hope they make it better! 😣😣
Very lovely picture. Don't we all wish for a scene like this outside our window.
Absolutely Linda! I would drink my coffee out there every morning feeling blessed 🥰🥰🥰

I have DAC canvases and I get that gapping. No company is 100% perfect.

Hi Jack! I did!!! We had some similar issues for sure! Thank you!! Hope all is well😘😘

Regardless of everything you stated, that picture is absolutely beautiful. It really makes me want to do a landscape. :)

Hi Diane, I love this picture! I agree with everything you said! 🥰🥰🥰
Very helpful. I've considered this one for the subject matter but I think the looseness of the drill field would drive me crazy!💜😮💜
You’re so welcome! It drives me nuts so I understand! I can’t say I recommend this one. 😞
Such a beautiful diamond painting!
Thank you for sharing! ❤❤
Thanks Jennelle! ❤️

Me too Sweet T! Can you imagine going on the patio and sipping coffee or sweet tea to that view?! Wow. 😍😍😍
🥰
🥰🥰🥰
Kimba, in addition to my previous comment, do you do more multiplacing or more single placing?
Hi Marcia! Thank you for watching! I multiplace as much as possible! Lol I love it! ❤️❤️
