Hey David, I completely agree with everything you said in your review. I changed the cutting blade to ceramic and it helps keep the blade from getting hot. I use the 1919 mainly for cutting with guards and the cordless Senior for skin to .5 fading. The 2 clippers compliment each other perfectly, IMO. I was very surprised to see you reviewing a Wahl clipper, TBH.
Thank you for that comment. I’m going to have to try changing the blade and see if that gives me a better result and helps the hearing issues. Btw, I’m not affiliated with anyone anymore so I’m free to work with any tool or product 😃
Blake P why dont you use the 1919 for skin to.5?! Is there something wrong with it?!
dj panik & don futuro I feel like the fade blade cuts with more precision, while the taper blade creates a softer transition with longer hair. Either one could be used for the whole haircut, but for the way I cut I’ve had better results that way.

Have you ever considered using an Omnicord Clipper Grip to help with the grip on that machine??? I had the same issue with the Andis Masters and Omnicord makes a clipper grip specifically designed for the Masters and it alleviated the problem with the slippery grip, also helped with the heat as well

Ace OfFades I was able to get mine very close, but not zero gapped without swapping the bracket with one of my older Wahl 2 hole blades. I love everything else about it though.

Put a tomb 45 battery it will last twice as long an motor will have more power.

I bought me the all star combo. I've had andis gtx, the old school grey ones, magic clip... But right now I'm using the All Star combo. How do I sharpened the wahl peanut?
I can't decide between this and a Panasonic ER-GP 82, can you help me ? I like the Wahl's design and the fact that it appears repairable (because of the apparent screws) but I also like the Pana's super-high-tech blades. They cost about the same so that's not an issue. Accessories and parts availability are important to me, and it seems the Wahl may be better in that regard. I live in France, though, and every hair salon I've ever been to uses Panasonic, so I'm wondering if there's a good reason. It's for personal use (hair and beard). I've kept the same cheapo Philips for 20 years and it's just died on me. I'd like to buy something I might gift to my son someday. Thanks for your input.
@MasterBarber001 thanks but you're too late... I bought the Wahl three weeks ago 😁. I like it a lot ! It's beautiful, well made, even my woman went "wow" when she saw it. And I managed to zero-gap it with a washer in the lever. Very, very satisfied !
@JR I doubled the washer on the bolt that holds the handle. Hard to explain with words, you need to try it for yourself, it's very easy. It does give you the ability to go beyond "zero gap" (negative gap ?) so that's actually a bit dangerous.
We changed to magic clip 2 screw brackets for zero fading

So you can but you have to change some parts to be able to Zero Gap it. Out of the factory I can’t be fully zero gapped

Short cycle recharging shortens life of the battery charge. Battery Last longer if drained then fully recharged. Why many ppl complain it doesn't work after 9 months. We're 1 1/2 years still working good. We have 2 clippers for all day use.

I just got my Wahl 1919 in today. However, when I unboxed it, there were tiny hair remains on the blade and the blades were really oily. Is this the normal?
I called the supplier and they told me it's from when Wahl did the testing on synthetic hair and they didn't clean it up. I'm calling bullshit on that.
p.s. there was still a seal on the box.

I was thinking the same. I have the extra hardware to zero gap with a stagger tooth blade. I seen some videos that show you how to do that by changing the slider. I want the power of the 1919 compared to the magic clip
