■ ITALY, FLORENCE: Upon my first visit to Palazzo Vecchio I realized I was in over my head. It's a fantastic museum to wander around in on your own but as I walked from one magnificent room to the next I started to get increasingly annoyed at not having a guide to explain the art, rooms and history of the place.
Well, I wasn't going to make that mistake twice. Enter my Sri Lankan connections. They were able to get me a freelance guide as a favor to tour the palace with me.
Always on the lookout for entrepreneurs to interview and feature I therefore decided to take the opportunity to do a little interview about the life of this Florence tour guide for the benefit of you viewers who dream about also starting for yourself.
In between the questions I throw in some images from the walk I did through the Palazzo as well as some reasons for why you should hire a local guide when abroad and ESPECIALLY when in Florence.
Local private and group guides are available at (or near) most of the attractions throughout the city of Florence and they'll make your visit to the attractions improve exponentially.
I've now been to most of Florence's major attractions albeit I have not filmed at them all nor will I. I just wanted to say that the queues are visitors to Palazzo Vecchio are basically non-existant unlike at all other Florentine attractions. This despite it being by far the greatest attraction of the city in my humble opinion.

My wife and I visited Florence a few years ago on a tour. It's absolutely amazing to walk the city with a knowledgeable guide. Even after doing research at home before our trip, a guide helps so much. Good series of vids Harold. Great tour guide.

I´m watching almost every video of you ( don´t have time for every single video ). But what you´re doing with those strangers, by helping them out, buying stuff from them what you don´t even need, and give it to people in need is already an incredible gesture. You saved a man from scammers, even knowing you can get into troubles. Everyone was just watching and did nothing against to help, but you were there! You´re giving big amounts of money to some people working hard for their future, to help them to get closer to their dreams. You´re the real MVP! The things you´re doing are just incrediby nice and kind!

To be honest it was my dream country to visit Australia & been searching the attractions & saving money to make that trip happen next year. So now it's gonna be Italy for sure & will have to make an extra effort to save more to try that 1.6 kg steak. When Harald began his vlogs in Italy I will admit I was a little disappointed as I felt Italy/Europe would not make for interesting content in comparison to India and Sri Lanka but my mind has been changed. Florence looks to be such an incredible city and these videos have piqued my interest. The amount of history in Italy is mind-blowing
