Contact caused by momentum after making contact with the ball is considered incidental, and not to be given as a foul. Regarding the Scales sending off: the 'Double Jeopardy" rule only applies to a straight red card. Yellows are now given for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. So the blame is entirely on Scales for his idiocy for the first yellow. As for England's 3rd, the offside line is taken from the shoulder of the attacker, not the arm. All the replays showed it was only Gallagher's arm in front and therefore it is onside. If there's any scrutiny to be given, it is for the manner in which the team collapsed after the first goal. Playing with 10 is tough. But shipping 2 more goals within 5 minutes is professional suicide!
It can actually be trickier to go on the offensive against 10 men because the remaining players all shut up shop. Being a man down hurts your attack much more. Even then being a man down doesn't excuse this extraordinary collapse.

Walker clearly heads the ball, there is no argument for a penalty there. The Ferguson one could go either way, as while Guehi is definitely fouling him, there's a foul from Ferguson in there as well.

If it’s in the box and the defender stops a clear goalscoring opportunity inside the box and was trying to play the ball then he won’t be given a straight red and is instead given a yellow, but if it’s a second yellow then it’ll be a red, the rules are not different for first or second yellow cards

Yes, we did “park the bus” but we did what he had to do, and it was effective for 50 minutes. In the first half we had at least one solid penalty turned down, some refs would have given both. Had these been given the game probably would have been different, certainly it would not have turned on the “8-minute meltdown” as it did.
But that’s football for you; after the “game changing controversial sending-off” the melt-down occurred, and all of us - rightly so, I think - are shocked and pissed off at that more than anything else.

England might have deserved the win but there is no way you actually think it wasn’t a penalty. The ref has got to do a better job on those big calls. Get the calls right and then let the better team prove they deserve the win. The no call most definitely cheapened this win.
England are superior in performance that we all know, but Ireland totally fell apart after the red card a complete switch off for three goals. You can argue Ireland deserved a penalty but they are just incompetent at playing together much of the team plays in the PL and EFL Championship but when they represent Ireland you’d only think one or two play in the prem the rest never seem bothered.

There were two clear penalties in favor of Ireland that the so called “referee” didn’t call. Also, the 3rd goal of England was offside. and the Ireland defender didn’t deserve a red card. It looks very suspicious. Favoring England of course.
Walker clearly heads the ball, there is no argument for a penalty there. The Ferguson one could go either way, as while Guehi is definitely fouling him, there's a foul from Ferguson in there as well.
And the offside line is taken from the shoulder not the arm. Therefore onside as shown by all the replays.

If it’s in the box and the defender stops a clear goalscoring opportunity inside the box and was trying to play the ball then he won’t be given a straight red and is instead given a yellow, but if it’s a second yellow then it’ll be a red, the rules are not different for first or second yellow cards
