Can we all just appreciate that pass from Kane at 1:24, not a single comment on this video about it. If De Bruyne or Messi made that pass we'd never hear nthe end of it
@@shaunpierce4174 Rooney was a great passer, too. Strange that everyone's talking only about Kane's brilliant pass when it was Bellingham's great run that prompted it, Kane looked up and saw him haring towards the goal when everyone else was focused on the touchline play.

Nevermind, Ireland. Football can be such a cruel, cruel game. Im an 🏴 fan but 1st half, even tho we played quite well, Ireland defended really well Then, 2nd half, definately a penalty but that ref, to both teams, was just way too card happy ; same as the other ref in our Greece away game. Before the sending off, I honestly thought 1-1 or 1-0 England , at FT We too , have had some unjust decisions like that down the years Anyway, all the best. 🤝
The referee's/VAR must have been fecking drunk not to give Ferguson a penalty, but our shape fell apart after Scales red card, Collins was doing so well in that advanced role, we played like we could have beaten Finland by 3 or more goals in the the first half but as I said before, red card= Our shape disappeared
They were pushing and shoving each other, so nothing doing. Second one, Walker got his head on the ball just before clipping him - that was more likely to be given, but that touch saved Walker.
Guehi is fouling Ferguson for sure, the problem for Ireland is that Ferguson is fouling him as well, so the ref can't really take any further action. On the Walker one he clearly heads the ball, so there should be no argument for a penalty there at all.
Playing against a superior team for 45 minutes is a lot easier than playing against a superior team for 90. Bellingham would’ve put that in and a similar avalanche might’ve followed.
There were two clear penalties in favor of Ireland that the so called “referee” didn’t call. Also, the 3rd goal of England was offside. and the Ireland defender didn’t deserve a red card. It looks very suspicious. Favoring England of course.
Walker clearly heads the ball, there is no argument for a penalty there. The Ferguson one could go either way, as while Guehi is definitely fouling him, there's a foul from Ferguson in there as well.
Stone-Wall Penalty on Ferguson ~ I notice the ITV highlights didn't show that incident. Fell apart after the sending off ~ ~ Scales first booking was stupid and un-professional ~ ~ What are they teaching him at Celtic ?
Interesting, two more or less clear penalties for Ireland not given at the beginning. VAR refs must've had a rough night prior to this match. Regardless of this, English roster is pretty impressive at this point in time - very long bench loaded with solid players, along with impressive starting 11.
I get it was a disappointing result for Ireland, but some of the commenters really need to learn the rules of the game. I agree that the Guehi/Ferguson tussle could have been given, but when both players are grappling with each other it is less likely. The second appeal, the angle behind the goal clearly shows Walker getting his head to the ball before any contact is made with the Irish attacker. Not a penalty. Contact caused by momentum after making contact with the ball is considered incidental, and not to be given as a foul. Regarding the Scales sending off: the 'Double Jeopardy" rule only applies to a straight red card. Yellows are now given for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity. So the blame is entirely on Scales for his idiocy for the first yellow. As for England's 3rd, the offside line is taken from the shoulder of the attacker, not the arm. All the replays showed it was only Gallagher's arm in front and therefore it is onside. If there's any scrutiny to be given, it is for the manner in which the team collapsed after the first goal. Playing with 10 is tough. But shipping 2 more goals within 5 minutes is professional suicide!
Hello there first 45 minutes Republic of Ireland played really well ..when England had 2 Goals that did not try too get back in too the game.. England one any way.first 45 minutes from was not good at all ..that's life .

Neutral ex referee here Very poor performance from the referee, clear pen on the first occasion for Ireland, absolutely shocking second yellow card, it’s clear in the rules that the team shouldn’t be punished twice as the Irish player clearly tries to play the ball At least he got the second appeal for a penalty right, that is never a penalty on the Irish number 7 However the referee completely affected the course of the match
If it’s in the box and the defender stops a clear goalscoring opportunity inside the box and was trying to play the ball then he won’t be given a straight red and is instead given a yellow, but if it’s a second yellow then it’ll be a red, the rules are not different for first or second yellow cards
I get that penalties are an easier opportunity for a team to get a goal. But why do people celebrate a player that was fouled in the box like the penalty is their accomplishment and not that of the player that fouled them? Edit: I say this because people are congratulating Bellingham for the penalty like he wasn’t just minding his business and got his foot stepped on…
England are superior in performance that we all know, but Ireland totally fell apart after the red card a complete switch off for three goals. You can argue Ireland deserved a penalty but they are just incompetent at playing together much of the team plays in the PL and EFL Championship but when they represent Ireland you’d only think one or two play in the prem the rest never seem bothered.
@@eazydoritos First one is a 50/50 and both players are tugging at each others jerseys. Second one Kyle Walker clearly heads the ball away before the contact, never a penalty. This is literally in the rules btw "If the defender clearly plays the ball first by heading it away and there is incidental contact afterward (e.g., due to momentum), this is typically not considered a foul."
As an Englishman, those penalty decisions were a joke. I'd have been fuming if I was Irish. Could have been a very different game if they were correctly called.
