that's because it was incorporating the Spanish influence from the conquistadors, which is what this season is all about - nature vs nurture, tradition vs influence, old vs young
Didn't care much for the introduction part of the song, but after that this became really amazing. They should have used it, im sick of hearing the same intro season after season.
The reason for the newer intros being less unique and not shown in full length during the actual show was actually because of this season. Russ Landeau made this for Nicaragua, but Mark Burnett rejected it. Furious, he decided to extend the Borneo theme and use it for the season, instead. Now, because of his feelings, the intros aren't shown anymore, and the full-length ones on the Internet are almost never truly unique. Most of them even borrowed parts from Micronesia's ending. Worlds Apart took bits from other seasons, too, in the same way All-Stars did, except with parts from Heroes vs. Villains and China, for example.
This was the theme originally but Mark Burnett didn't approve it.Russ was really bummed about it and then they started showing the intro rarely. That's why the intro music is not as good as before because it doesn't even get shown.
@@brokenpikachu9491 I could be wrong, but I think he meant that it makes sense that the lackluster intros we get these days are a result of what happened with this one.
I like how the part at 0:38 (after the flutes), which is usually over-prominent in other themes, isn't here, it just blends in with the rest of the music without being overpowered.

@@BubbleNugget0 This isn't fan made. It's shows below the description that it's composed by Russ Landau, officially licensed, and part of the Survivor music album with the title saying it was unapproved.
I heard the reason this theme was rejected was because this season was aired during the show’s ten year anniversary, so they used the Borneo theme to commentate that.
Underrated season we had such strong women on here. Holly, Jane, Brenda, Alina, Naonka. And ofc the legendary purple Kelly 💜. Who survived so many days in the rain in a single swimsuit.
strong woman NaOnka ? Did you watched that season, she was being rude to almost everyone and she is a quitter (contestants who quit are trash in my opinion) From this seson i would consider Jane as strong woman, Brenda as the smart strategic player, Holly was kinda team mom archtype and Alina was really kind and free spirit person which want to be friend with.
I remember genuinely anticipating “After HvV what’s the season 21 theme gonna sound like??” and then sadly realizing what aired was just the recycled S1 track
Why they didn't go with this intro, it throws me back to times when Spanish galleons sailed across the seas and gives me really good latin american vibes.
Wow, they should have used this. But I can see why they didn't, too many musical instruments going on at the same time and not as harmonious, like China where you can distinguish the original Ancient Theme and the background chinese chanting and music, I think it's the percussion in the background, with just the wind instruments and guitar it would be fine I guess.
@survivor297 Sadly I don't think this theme song would have done much to save Nicaragua, at best at least now it does not seem like the producers had enough hope in it to give the season its own theme.
Okay, maybe Nicaragua wasn't the best season. But I would have loved to hear this opening instead of Borneo's theme again. What were they thinking reusing it?
It's from Spain, which is the country the conquistadors claimed Nicaragua for, and later colonized. That's why there's a heavy Spanish influence in this song.
I like this intro so much better; I don't care if it's "OTT" as people call it, it's better than what we've been getting lately. All the intros from like Samoa sound the same basically.
@user2398 Yeah, also season 7 has three unapproved themes :o I love the 7th theme but I also love the unapproved themes. Shitty thing that they don't approve the best ones >: (
For its really most average season. It had some flaws but it had really decent cast, likeable winner and some memorable moments. 100% Better than Thailand, South Pacific, One World, Island of the Idols and New Era.
What I don’t understand is why this one wasn’t approved. This is one of the best themes I’ve heard from the entire show
Im just gonna pretend that this was the actual theme
Same
Same, I like this one better :)
It’s the only good thing about the season. And it never even made it into the actual show.
@@itzmeconar6991 not true, this season was hilarious to watch & awesome for that
@@BubbleNugget0If you watch it for fun and messiness, sure. It's very Gabon-esque. 🤣
it sucks that not more people know about this intro. It's actually one of the best intros of all time.
OMBB THEY SOOOOOOOOOOOO SHOULD OF USED THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
made this for commenting Meh Ikr
better than original

CyberSimsShows omg your videos are epic
Lol This was used when it aired in canada

That makes sense.
What?
Joseph Stardust please explain & elaborate SOS‼️
Joseph Stardust no. No it doesn’t

If this was used, it would've had better ratings.

I think CBS rejected it. Could be wrong though

this theme is soooo much better than the real one O_O
0:38 Even the crocodile is vibing.
The only way this season could’ve somewhat redeemed itself is by using this as the actual intro.
Dayumn this was better that what they went with. Heck, probably one of the best Survivor intros ever.
That was AWESOME!!! I wish this was the official intro for Survivor Nicaragua.
this intro was awesome.. it definitely shows the nature vs man theme for this season... it is sick!!!
I LOVE THIS, Fits the winner really well
If approved, this would've been one of the best themes of the show, if not THE best
Hands down best intro. I’ll probably listen too it a few more times
Why the hell did CBS play the Borneo intro instead of this one? This sounds amazing!
THE BEST intro after the original version for Season 1
this intro music is next level
This is an amazing intro and the song fits so well with the visuals
This sounds soooo much better
0:51 lol
the instrument and the frog mouth are at the same time
its funny :D
This would’ve been a great intro if they approved this
perfect for survovor:florida or survivor : mexico
《кσσкιє η' кяємє》 well, some peole make fan versions of survivor like survovr washingon so it could happen, just not officialy
mr. landau i have this to say: THIS=10X of the one you put on TV and that is all i have to say on the matter.
Underrated season we had such strong women on here. Holly, Jane, Brenda, Alina, Naonka.

Naonka is straight up a moron. I'm sorry you think of her as a strong women. She's a disgusting bully if she was a man lol she'd be ostracized
strong woman NaOnka ? Did you watched that season, she was being rude to almost everyone and she is a quitter (contestants who quit are trash in my opinion)

No she played ruthlessly without giving a shjt. Good for her maybe if we had more people like her the show would've still been watchable.
Underrated!? This season is GARBAGE!!!
Amazing ! :3
This easily would be a top 5 intro song in my opinion
this intro is awesome!!!
This is GOOD!!
0:19 it gets stronger
THIS > Borneo re-make
This is one of the best survivor intros. I have no Idea why Mark Burnett is so uncultured.
BRENDA👑
Is that crocodile nodding to the beat of the music?
Wow, I really like the flute at 0:35
This theme is so much better than that Borneo theme. What were they thinking?
imagine final 3: fabio, brenda & marty
So glad Brenda didn't make it she was so full of herself.
Well they're going back to Nicaragua this season so let's see if the intro gets used
my favorite survivor music
This would have been so electric as the theme 🕺🏻🕺🏻
The original Millenials vs GenX.
this is so fucking amazing
I remember genuinely anticipating “After HvV what’s the season 21 theme gonna sound like??” and then sadly realizing what aired was just the recycled S1 track
Sick

R.I.P. Dan
Im using this song for the "homemade" survivor im making. Its so cool
This comment may be 9 years old, but I hope your homemade survivor went well man
Why didn't they use this for the intro? It's sooooo good and fits the location well. Instead they used the one from season 1. Why?
R.I.P Dan
I hope they bring back Jimmy Johnson again
Oh...and I just realized...Survivor Nicaragua is not the first season to have an unapproved theme. It's just the 1st season to not have a backup theme
Wow, they should have used this.

Jimmy T looks like the guy on Hardcore Pawn.
Les Gold?
Joseph Stardust Yea I think he meant Les...Les is skinnier though
#obsessed
shouldve used this intro
They made a mistake not making this the theme song for this season
I have no idea why this theme wasn't used
If they did it in Central America I say it’s fair game or like in Cozumel
So if this is official, why is it unapproved?
kelly b looks kinda like mellisa from fiji
TH-cam removed Survivor Nicaragua!!!!
Love: Fabio, Brenda, Jane, Dan, Jimmy Johnson, Kelly B., Alina
Like: Tyrone, Wendy
Okay: Jill
Didn’t care for: Yve, Benry, Sash
Dislike: Chase, Jimmy T., Purple Kelly
Hate: NaOnka, Shannon, Marty, Holly
Naonka is a trash person, so are most of the people in the season
@@johnmillay6790 yeah, this is honestly my least favorite cast in the entire show, as well as my least favorite season in general.

such a pretty theme for a season full of grumpy gremlins lmao
Whats wrong for example with grumpy mafia boss Dan ?
@greenday61892 Couldn't agree more greenday.
This music sounds more like North Mexico than Nicaragua to me so I can see why it got unapproved.
It's from Spain, which is the country the conquistadors claimed Nicaragua for, and later colonized. That's why there's a heavy Spanish influence in this song.
The shots don't fit well with the music, but with some work I think this would've worked. The only part I didn't like was the opening
This theme was clearly better than the one they played on television.

The basic idea of this intro is not bad but they put too much stuff in it. You can hardly tell it's the Survivor theme in the background...
This season sucked

Not enough harmony. Too all over the place.
No terrible. It's going to far off the original. It's like a new song
