That was a sick photo of that 10in Choke. I super agree with the rof 5 for bottom and the rof 12 for cranking. Wish I had this info 20 snag Huds ago. lol
Question, sir. I just bought a gizzard shad 68 special to fish here in IL. I'm super exited to fish it this spring in lakes in this area. Should I use braid with it?
You should check out the daiwa lexa reels I dig em plus I’ve caught 15+lb yellowfin on both models and seen people bring in smaller class(40-80lb) bluefin with them that’s why I chose them as my swim bait reel
I don’t know about the latest version of the Lexa but the couple year old model (blue with Winn handles) were very problematic. $200 reel that i couldn’t sell on the swimbait or Daiwa forums. Nobody would even consider buying it.
@@johnwolff1043 they had a problem with the clutch engaging on the cast with those models and it would strip the gears so they upgraded the clutch on the Lexa HD’s and went to stainless gears and pinion to fix the problem. Most of the issues came from the single power handle causing the clutch to engage. You shouldn’t have an issue with the paddle handle though. They are still great reels and I actually prefer them over my Shimano Tranx 300 because of the breaking system on the Diawa is easier to work with
I don’t know if you have heard Matt Allen’s story of where he caught his pb of 17lbs on a Hudd. There’s a story about it on Bassmaster’s website. It’s such a crazy story.
Sadly, here in Spain is totally impossible to get one, I mean, people don't even know absolutly nothing about the Hudds, and import one of you guys of the States is (understandably) very expensive... so, SHAME ON US hahaha Keep up the good content guys, greetings from your Spanish dude! hahaha
Do you ever scent the bait? A light boil will clear the plastic smell but I'm wondering if spraying some shad scent or something would be more appealing while it's dragging slow.
The part that gets stuck is actually the nose of the bait. The jig hook rarely ever gets snagged on anything. The nose will wedge itself in between rocks and other things to get snagged.
I think the bottom hook hanger got removed to prevent fish getting hooked in the gills and killing them. When a big bass eats the hudd they choke it....guess where that bottom hooks going to get them, THE GILLS
I don’t know if you live in California but turners outdoors has all of them in stock usually atleast a few weeks ago when I was there and their 2 dollars cheaper than tackle warehouse
Great video! Just picked up a few for trout stocking season in Northern Illinois!
Havrnt got one on my 8" hudds but i love catching them on the 68's
Those 68’s are pure money! I need to start fishing mine more!
That 2nd hook set! You made sure that bass was brought in. Nice catch man.
Hahaha I knew I had to really hit him when he came back for it 🤣
Great info, awesome episode! " I just got wrecked..." love it!

Hahaha same dude. I lost sooo many hudds when I first started fishing them 🤣
i haven't bought any but plan to so def glad to hear this now
Hey guys, LOVE the new website! Soooo much better.
You were pumped up. Awesome
Great video Geoff. Appreciate the info! I do believe the tail action when still in the water is the difference with good baits. Is that correct?
Just found a set of a Huddleston 68 and an 8” for 45$ both are OG’s cant wait to join the Hudd club
Thanks for the video!🤙
I love the hand shake after that big bass lol

Thanks for tuning in Ed! Appreciate the view!
Love the products you guys sell. I wish y’all shipped to PO Boxes cause I’d definitely be buying stuff.

Yup, his story is crazy, such a giant bass!

You need a hud? I'd ship one to ya pimpin

May i ask between the daiwa DX swim bait or the dobyns fury whats a better rod for huddleston? I hear the dobyns is better for trebbles. But idk.
What pound fluoro do you use for the 10inch thinking about getting it, was thinking about using 30pound fluoro
"I told you I got SMOOOOOKED"!
Do you ever scent the bait?

If you want to bottom rig it just make a shallow pike rig. Kinda similar to how one rigs a dead baitfish. Afw is awesome for this.
Does the hudd ROF 5. 8inch come with the hook?
thank you sir
Cray Zee Bass fisher... Nice vid
Thanks Mike for watching the video! 🔥🤙
What is your opinion on the Huddleston 68 special?
do you get hung up a lot draggin bottom with an exposed hook on top like that ?
The part that gets stuck is actually the nose of the bait. The jig hook rarely ever gets snagged on anything. The nose will wedge itself in between rocks and other things to get snagged.
@@thehookuptackle_usa ahh right on
Good Info .. When we going to have DRT ... 😳 ⁉️
Drt baits are the shizzle!
Maybe very soon actually 👀🤐
@@thehookuptackle_usa I will keep my eyes 👀 on it
Can the Levante Leviathan handle the 8in?
Would the tequila baccarac from megabass be able to throw the 8 inch Huds
Yo what happened to the website?
I think because the treble hook on the rof 0 was killing fish raking and hooking their gills its what i heard
If you had rigged it the STE way, yeah, it would kill a lot of fish, but a single treble on the bottom did great.
I bought the rof 5 but i hear a lot of people say the 12 is the best one. So now im second guessing. 😔
I think Ken took the bottom hook option away because it was gilling trophy size bass and killing them.
bottom hook hanger was removed due to people complaining that it made an unnatural sound when bottom bouncing on rocks.
Wow, I hadn’t heard of that before, that’s a trip haha. He should of at least kept it on the rof 0 which would make sense
@@thehookuptackle_usa that is what I heard from some og's in the swimbait community. unsure if it's true or not but they're very knowledgeable people.

@@michaelbrooks6976 that also makes a lot of sense. quite frankly I'm sure there are more than one sole reason why it got removed.
Dude...0 available. Why do this vid?
I made this video quite a while back actually when we had more in stock. Posting it now just helps those guys that already have bought them
