I like that someone did a longplay video of Vanishing Earth, complete with special missions. I loved this game during my teen years. Though, I'm surprised that the roll shield isn't used as often. You can rack up a lot of points from shield use. Deflected bullets give a better bonus than regular shots. Bombing the background guns also help with scoring, for those seeking a good score run. Of course, it's good to bomb after deflecting bullets.
In this game, Player ship can reflection enemy bullets for a while with rolling that can use press R button This is very useful technique and also can use again after few delay I surprised this player beat the game without rolling! well played! I writing this with google translate
On one hand it's a missed opportunity that the [007]th entry in the playlist isn't Goldeneye. On the other hand it's neat that I found this by looking for the former. The music's bomb.
Surprisingly the Japanese version of this game is also in english COMPLETE WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES AND VOICES in the story mode. The only difference are in the mission interlude screens and of course the title screen that had Japanese letters.
TailsFan109 Master mode everything you destroy sends out dots aiming for you, you have to keep spamming the shield button over and over tell the stage ends, bosses core finals add a little extra attacks, some you can easily evade some you might as well use Supers on. That's pretty much it iv been playing this since it first came out in fact lol i'm playing it now and I still rage on Master. Only one thing iv learned in this game that I have no clue WHY Hudson added and that's if you take too long fighting a boss they SPAM out projectiles like 0.1 second at you that HOMES in on you even when your dead. Never expect that...
...well I wouldn't know, I don't have the game. And I'll admit, I'm not the biggest fan of suicide bullets as they're called. Is the game still fun normally?
Hahaa it's cool but yeah on normal it feels like any other normal game you can pretty much go through the whole game without firing a single shot half the time, only some ships will fire at you others will only fire when you shoot them. Try 2 minute or 5 minute mode its pretty fun it's mostly for comboing but I play it cause uhhh...mmm idk I guess I like the stage and music lol idk >.< but its fun.
I actually own a strange Japanese "Sample Cartridge" of Star Soldier on N64, and it appears to be the full game but it also has "Enemy List" and "Mission Select" on the main menu as well. The game also noticeably cuts to a demo really quick while on the main menu. The frame rate is also a lot better than the this recorded version.
Enemy list is in the full game. I believe mission select is too. Tbey are unlockables. As for framerate, this is most likely a rom or played through a video capture device.
It's all about odd-colored enemies/obstacles - destroy the green pillars THEN the red pillar in the middle of Stage 2, destroy only the red ship in the beggining of Srage 3, and leave the wave of blue enemies at the end of Stage 4 alone! This will take you to the extra missions ;)
This soundtrack is godlike, loved this game as a kid!
my childhood game :')
wow a n64 game i never even knew about- and it's good!

God damnit! I wish I knew about this game during the 64 days...I would have gone nuts!
yeah its good many a night spent getting drunk and smoking playing this game with people that are no longer my friends lol oh 90s where have you gone
i remember my mom surprised me with this, and i thought it would suck. Loved it to death.
Same here. It was a Christmas present and I was like "B'okay!" and turned out to really like it. Though for some reason I always chose Wisteria. lol
absolutely love this game still to this day. still have my original copy on my original n64
me too, best vertical scroller on the N64
This was criminally overlooked
Took me so long to find this I didn’t know the name of it as a kid but would play this for hours thanks metal rock jesus for telling me the name of it
my second favorite game after star fox 64 :D
I love how many hidden alternate paths there were

wow I never knew the bad ending would be like that. because I thought it only give you a game over screen instead
Ive been searching for this game!!! The memories!!
MISSION 1... RUMBLING..
Rented this more than once back in the day
Lathyrus is the best ship.
No doubt lol
I wish this game series would return I loved playing this as a kid and now as an adult idk about you but these graphics are really awesome
my childhood. thanks for uploading
33:06 THIS IS A RESTRICTED AREA PLEASE LEAVE IMMEDIATELY
Great video bro
The arranged and recorded version of erosion corrosion is on TH-cam btw
16:45 This doesn't look like such a tough battle.
16:55 ...never mind.
Master mode is far worse
There's harder difficulties? I probably wouldn't mind, I like shmups.

duuuuude! I miss this game!!!!!!!!!!!
You need complete the master mode. And use the R - Shield to reflex the attacks
The best Game (i.m.o) of the Soldier Series is Soldier Blade on the TG-16.
Played this game probably 1,000 times at my grandparents house, never beat it though. The ending of this game is fucking hilarious😂
My childhood....damn shame I lost the game
I also want to know what the badguy's deal is. He was the main enemy in Soldier Blade. Here he is again and nobody knows his motive.
29:36 I WILL NOT TOLERATE ANYONE WHO GETS IN MY WAY!
Game looks cool! My only gripe is being timed, putting extra unnecessary pressure on ME.
Only the final boss has a timer on it. The player is using time attack mode at the beginning of the video to showcase the other fighters.
God I miss this game!!
I found a copy of it!
What does the voice say when you upgrade craft's main weapon systems?
"Main weapon powered up"
Did Play Use N64 Emulator?
35:37 IT SEEMS AS IT YOU STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND! ABOUT THE END OF EARTH!
Great game I still play it
Anyone who played the N64 Mario Party games might recognize the female narrator’s voice.
Just sayin'
Star Soldier on Wiiware didn't have a normal mode... :(
M1YAK2 shame dat it only have caravan mode....
I just played this and am shocked by the ending. Is that the best ending you can get? Please explain, my five year old is traumatized.
Nevermind, I didn't even notice the timer at the end. I played again and saved the earth. My boy feels much better. whew!
ClutchKman Yeah pretty much the Blue ship you'll get the best ending on. The other 2 are more for getting combos out for high scores.
Thank you.

The N64 only had a few Shmups but that one is great
three i think this is the only verticle one and the only coke i like
Blue ship was my fav
Love this game
I used to have this game years ago and I don't know what happened to it.
Why do video game reviers bash this game. Apart feom the enemies not attacking sometimes, it seems pretty well made.
Really? I guess it's because it's not a well-known mainstream title. Most reviewers only praise popular games.
16:41 NOW FACE THE WRATH OF DEATH INTERGRATE!
A guest tried to get me to throw this game away with some rubbish about how the moon landing was faked...
Wat
is this related to star soldier in NES ?
It's implied.
Also, one of the hidden levels is a remake/re-enactment of one of the NES levels.
I believe so
pretty good
What I'm confused about is how you trigger the secret paths... Any suggestions?

12:10 My friend came back and got revenge
Esse cara e foda !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, this looks like a budget title
I CANT PASS LEVEL 3!!!!!!!!
This is not a legitimate no-shield-use gameplay. 29:26 He used it once lol
Hold up. Is duoss a girl?
Dude it has a booming, deep voice since the start...
first level 56.2% ?? thats bad
You're bad
this is so ugly compared to the 8-bit PCE 2D ones....
