3-5 years later after they stop playing and a player is selling their Championship Rings online or at an Auction sometime after they stop playing.
(Antoine Walker - 2006 Miami Heat, Lawrence Taylor - 1987 & 1991 New York Giants , Jose Canseco - 1989 Oakland A's & 2000 New York Yankees , Dr. J Julius Erving - 1983 Philadelphia 76ers, Randy Brown 1996, 1997 & 1998 - Chicago Bulls ) they all had to sell their Rings because of Bad Investments that they made , spent all of their career earnings, Court cases before and after they retired, etc.....

@@jackiemoon5906 , that's the sad fact with former Professional Athletes that lose all their money. They don't think about saving their money for the future , investing in smart ideas and companies. Then years after they retire most of those that lose everything are broke and their wives leave them and get custody of the kids if they had kids together. Some league (NFL, NBA, MLB) have Financial classes for players to take when they come into the league as Rookies, but then after the players 1st year as a Pro it's not required for them to take the classes anymore.
Well it is true, the league pays for part part of the cost, so every owner is kind of paying for it

And lastly the NFL is currently filled with 2nd generation players from other countries like the Caribbean or West Africa...South America and even Europe and tons of Polynesians.
