Stunning machine. Apple hit the jackpot on this one and made an all time classic. I've had mine for 3 years and it has not let me down once.
For 99% of normal computer users, it will serve them well for several years to come (and since Walmart have just started selling it, Apple support should also continue for many years!).
Couldn't agree more. This M1 chip is like a new era for industry for sure. About the support, i'm sure Apple will support it's first "Apple Silicon" for more than usual. Thanks for the comment ❤️

Nice video on the M1. I just bought one and love the shape, size and weight. Perfect for traveling as it can fit anywhere and as you said, the charge will last for many hours.

I prefer the wedge on the M1 MacBook Air. It doesn't scratch my wrist like the square one does.

I just got this computer today, commenting from it. It is amazing and it can play league of legends which is what I play the most with my friends. perfect for me and I will be using it mainly for university.

It's an amazing value if you buy used. Perfect for the casual user. But ARM on windows does look tempting. SL7 has 16gb RAM on base model and upgradable SSD. But then again it runs W11 not MacOS.
Windows is a huge dealbreaker for me tbh. In addition to that M1 is much cheaper.
I bought a used one with 16/512 for $800 CAD. It runs faster than my 14" Pro in some cases. I think maybe because I have so many random apps on my on my 14.
Cordi you are right. It's the best MacBook Air and it's a100% aluminium.....
8gb is just not enough to spin up some vms for vms you need atleast 16gb for it too be good.
You can get good prices at ipower etc., although the OS support will be longer on an M3 etc.

Does the Numbers in Mac work samely as Excel in windows?
But 4 years less OS and security updates than a new M3 Air. If you could get the full 7 years updates from when you buy it new from Apple it would be great but with only 3 years more of updates or less it is poor value in my opinion in comparison with an M3.

Can I still use it without further software and safety updates? I bought mine a few days ago but I heard, that Apple does not support it anymore in 2025/2026
We have no way of knowing this for sure, but Apple generally provides unexpectedly long support when it comes to software updates. For example, the iPhone XS, which will soon be 7 years old, will receive the iOS 18 update. Considering that this Mac is the first Apple Silicon device, it can be expected to receive longer support than usual.
In my country it's 899€. Is it still worth it or are there better windows alternatives?
Can you give examples of windows alternatives? Laptops seem a bit expensive in your country
