Hi from Wiltshire, England. Nice video, by coincidence I have a new unused Rock fortress sat in my attic I plan to take out for first time Friday with an Outbacker stove.
Yes. You can have two people comfortable one on each side & stove in the middle. We are able to fit two cots and still have plenty of space on both ends of the doors.
...and I agree that pipe needs some more height to get the embers away and to allow the breeze to carry the smoke away as well. Curious how the cot worked for you, I had a Coleman I sent back because it was too much of a struggle to assemble. Glad you had a good hot tenting experience!
Yes I already have two extras chimney pipe extensions for the next time. I've used the Go 2 cot twice already and is comfortable & like it so far. Thanks John!
Sweeeeeet Yota bro! Welcome to the wonderful world of hot tenting!!!! Like you were saying, extend that stove pipe. You want it to be at least 1 foot above the peak of the tent. I personally prefer 18"-24" with the lightweight materials. Regardless, spark holes are going to happen. Tenacious tape will fix that on the spot. You'll have it all sorted out in no time. Good stuff man! Keep at it. And that breakfast...oh my!! Portion control 🤣Looks awesome. Happy New Year to you and your family. And your cute dog too!
Thanks Justin!!!! I got two more chimney pipe extensions for the next time. Hopefully the next time will try it out with the wife & dog and keep them warm. Happy New Year to you & your family!
Is that Beyond Sausage?!! If so, this is my new favorite TH-cam channel. No need to reply! I just read your main page description! You have a new subscriber! I'd be psyched to camp nearby one time.
I'm looking at getting this tent next month - great video & appreciate and the tour of the tent! Going to like and subscribe and check out more! Cheers!
Rip, someone didn't read the instructions :P Because the pole in the middle is height adjustable, you don't peg both sides. You are to peg down one of the doors, then insert tent pole at desired height... then peg out second door, followed by pegging out the rest of the tent. This is IMPORTANT so that the tent pegs and the bottom of the tent of the correct distance from the pole so the doors function correctly.
I have the same tent have had it for over a year now I just did a cold-weather camping test in a blizzard with it with winds exceeding 35 mph. Pretty darn cool we had -25 with the windchill factor. I went over to Walmart and got those 18 inch heavy duty ground steaks they’re like three dollars apiece. I think I got 14 now I’m waiting for it all to thaw out so I can pull the tent back down. It never blew over I did a couple TH-cam shorts on It was pretty cool.
Awesome!!! Pretty nice hot tent so far. Wow that's crazy 35 mph winds. It really gets hot. Enjoy & continue to have fun on your hot tent. Looking forward to some more hot tenting.
Nice! I like your stove and your cot! Did you pack in or use a cart? That tent heated up very well. Looks like you had plenty of wood ... when you go solo, sometimes it's hard to process enough! Great video! Welcome to hot tenting!!
Thanks Fred!!! Yes I brought my little Ozark Cart from Walmart to avoid doing bunch of trips to the parking lot. All that wood processing got me wore out 😆 lol Happy New Year to you & your family!
I love watching your solo camping trips. I finally get to see my missing kitchen utensils. Cant wait to try out the tent.
Thanks babe! Lol what's your cooking utensils are also mine. 😁 Can't wait to have you help me process wood on the next one.
Need to put the pipe atleast 2 foot above the peak of the tent

I’m looking at the Rock Fortress. Can you easily fit two people in there comfortably with the stove?
Yes. You can have two people comfortable one on each side & stove in the middle. We are able to fit two cots and still have plenty of space on both ends of the doors.
