- In this video, we follow the journey of creating a unique truck for Howie Kendrick, a former baseball star. The team at Fat Fender Garage in Arizona takes on the task, transforming a 1965 Chevrolet C10 pickup into a custom masterpiece named "Ruth" after Kendrick's beloved grandmother.
The project starts as a simple restoration but soon grows into a full-blown custom job when unexpected rust is found. The team strips the truck down and rebuilds it with a new engine, a supercharged LSA, and a Texas Speed cam, giving it a power boost.
The truck's exterior is a striking midnight blue, while the inside sports a vibrant Mandarin orange. Unique touches like zebra wood in the truck bed and interior, cerakote finishes, and a top-notch sound system make this truck stand out from the crowd. The supercharged LSA engine, estimated to deliver around 750 horsepower, adds a thrilling edge to the ride.
The video wraps up with Kendrick picking up his truck and taking it for a spin. He's thrilled with the result, loving the power, smooth ride, and the careful attention to detail in the build. The truck goes on to make appearances at SEMA and is set to grace the cover of Street Trucks magazine.
