Im not a barber so I never realized how important zero gapping is until i got the babyliss lopro set. I cut my own hair/do my shapeups and been using the Wahl Detailers for the last 10 years. Hey what can you use on the Babyliss if you don't have the zero set tool?
Just use a flat surface to push the blades flush then eyeball it if you want to scoot it back any
Please would recommend this for balding. And recommendations for balding trimmer or clippers?
Yes these are great for balding
Thanks

Damn wish I would have seen this video a long time ago 😅🔥

They’re a little finicky. Have to be set just right. I’d just reset them until it fixes the problem. Sometimes takes me 3-4 times to get it right

After zero gapping , is the blade suppose to be able to move side to side?
The cutting blade will always move side to side. The still blade no

Thanks for the video man! I just zero gapped mine, the smaller blade is just underneath the bigger blade but it still feels like it’s scraping the skin. Is this normal or should I move the smaller blade down more? I just want them to hit
It might be too sharp or sometimes the still blade is just rough and needs to be broken in before it is smooth and slides easier
@@Seancutshair ok perfect, I’ll give myself a cut and see how it goes, thanks heaps man!!
So they don’t cut people because they aren’t zero gapped but Do you still have to be light handed will they still hurt people if It ash’s the skin?
They’re still pretty sharp so I don’t press too hard. But some trimmers will slice if you put any pressure
Perfect thanks

The issue I run into is that it shifts when I'm tightening the screws, it impossible to keep the guard/blade from moving.

Use your thumb to push it down slightly like I do in the video. Look and make sure it’s slightly under zero gapped
What is the benefit of zero gap? Would be nice to see a close-up of the blade
Just cuts sharper. The blades are flush with each other with “zero gap”
Are still pushing the zero gap tool when you tilt the trimmer?
No I just use it to push it flush, then when you tilt you allow the blades to shift slightly

I’m not sure exactly. May just be time for a different blade

I’m not sure. Find a barber with multiple skeletons and they’ll have a few
Ok thanks for responding. I appreciate it!
One of the screws wont come out, its too tight and my screw just spins around it? What can i do to fix that?
Not sure you’ll have to find a way to hold that screw in place

I just do trimmers my clippers are close but not zero
