  • Even though we are cooling down, and getting ready for Fall I'm always amazed at how lush everything is still. Join me as we reflect on Summer while we create a herbaceous Sage soap using the soft natural colours of French green clay, and Spirulina.
Not much talking in this video, as its purpose is for you to relax and reflex. Enjoy
    A question worth chewing on..
What was the best part of your summer? How can you cultivate more of that feeling moving forward.
If you feel like sharing I'd love to know :)
We (my partner Jeremy and I) had the blessed opportunity to vacation at an ocean front property on Salt Spring Island this year. During that time we also had the greatest pleasure of fostering a partially paralyzed rescue dog named Reese. He brought so much joy to our family, and despite his tragic shortcomings he was always happy. Unfortunately while on that trip he suddenly suffered kidney failure, and we had to say goodbye to him as he crossed the rainbow bridge. We are still gutted by the experience, and in all truth this is the first time I feel ok talking about it.. mostly because my point is this..
Cherish all of the memories you have with the people, animals, and experiences that have brought you joy. Remembering and reflecting is an ability us humans have, and we should continue to honour it. Reese taught me that no matter how sucky the curve ball that you've been given, see it as an opportunity to make a new experience out of it and keep on going until the end. Thanks Reese
I've made a post on Instagram if you'd like to see pictures of our sweet soul, and I'm thinking of starting a FB page so that we can start many conversations on the importance of self care. Let me know if you'd like to see that. A warm community is something a feel we all could use more of these days
If you are a soaper and looking for a recipe to try, here's this one. I personally love it, but I've been holding out on posting it because I've had to adjust water levels slightly due to the extreme humidity that I live in. I didn't want to give false information. Please give it a try and tell me what you think
