- On November 1st 2015, Twister: Ride It Out will close forever to make way for an all new attraction starring Jimmy Fallon titled "Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon." The new attraction is scheduled to debut in 2017.

I've been waiting all day for you to post this. Thank you so much for this tribute. The last time I rode this, back in September, I asked to tape the show so I could put it on DVD and save it in my collection forever. I was of course told no, but I knew this channel would come through. Next year is the 20th anniversary of my favorite movie of all time: Twister. I really hope universal will release a 20th anniversary DVD, along with a video of this ride. Goodbye "Twister: Ride it Out", you were my favorite "ride"...
Thank you for posting the attractions at Walt Disney world in Orlando Florida. In the future I plan to go to Walt Disney world in Orlando Florida and stay in the park until evening. Late in the evening until it gets dark out.
Twister was my favorite movie that I watch in the theater.
It's bittersweet. This ride was definitely outdated. It was old and more than half the people who rode it never saw the movie. I'm glad I got to ride it one last time this past fall. To take it down for another simulation ride is horrible. First disaster not this. Thanks for recording and sharing!
Why the actual fuck would they change this, an actual ride about a movie to a ride with JIMMY FALLON!?

The movie was really good but this ride and the film also terrified me. Ever since I was a child, I've been terrified of tornadoes. I still am. Every time I watch the movie, or read something related about twisters, I get nightmares about them.
This was a really good representation of what could actually happen in real life, that's what makes it a good simulation because of the fact that its so real, its scary. I even got goosebumps watching this video. So, I am sad to see it go, but in a way, I'm sort of happy so that I don't have to feel scared every-time I go on it.
So long Twister. You will never be forgotten.
I'm so happy I rode Twister with my family for one last time.

Replacing this ride with Jimmy Fallon ride is a bad idea. They should've gone with another dark ride instead of a New York idea, something like Jaws or The Mummy. They don't even make rides like this anymore. Using practical effects onto the stage to simulate a actual tornado coming for you and wrecking a town is amazing. If the Jimmy Fallon ride doesn't work, then they need to renew it with a dark ride, one that uses practical effects like this did.
+CREEPY TELEVISON I understand that many people have been saying this ride is too dated to survive because it does pale in comparison to a lot of attractions today. If I'd been in charge, I wouldn't have gotten rid of it, but simply upgraded it to create a more intense experience. More violent winds, more lightning strikes, more rain, and even hail if it could be done. Maybe even more sets than just the drive-in. It would've been a nice tie-in with the film's 20th anniversary and made attendance spike considerably.

I was so hyped to ride this in 2014 but it was getting refurbished. But know it's CLOSING?!?!? Universal, why replace a beloved attraction with a jimmy Fallon ride?
I rode this for the first (and last) time when I went to Universal Studios Florida this past May on my senior trip.
In my opinion, it was Meh.
It wasn't bad exactly, I do think it was better use of Theme Park real estate than Barney, but it wasn't really good either.
Honestly, I think my favorite part of Twister was the line before entering the main stage but after the Paxton/Hunt intro. It was really cool how they managed to simulate a destroyed house and still make a practical waiting area.
But with that said, the effects show itself was just sort of average. Not Bad, mind you, just a fun, yet mediocre,timekiller.
Personally, if I had to choose which Jan De Bont movie got turned into an attraction, I would have chosen Speed. It would have made an awesome Roller Coaster in the same vein as the Rock and Roller Coaster at DHS, but that's just me.
In the end, it'll be pretty nice to have a ride in New York about, well, New York.
+Zice033 I rode this once back in 2008. Now it looks like I won't be able to for a second time. It's only a matter of time before Universal removes all of the other classic rides, which sucks.

I was REALLY enjoying it to lay myself in the wind and rain.

+Brandon Fone it's evolve or die. The theme park industry is highly competitive. Plus it brings new experiences to guests. Would you pay over $100 a ticket every year, or multiple times a year, to ride the same merry-go-round? Do you think other people would do so?

They replaced this with a shitty Jimmy Fallon thing? damn shame, I miss this ride. The practical effects to make the twister right in front of you still amazes me
I remember when I was little going on this ride with my dad and getting very scared of the flying cow.
Sad to see it go - it was one of the few classics remaining (yes I know it wasn't an "original"). However, this park needs to coexist with Disney and the only way to do that is to do the one thing Disney cannot - rapidly stay up to date. Universal has the unique ability to stay up to date with what is popular and Jimmy Fallon is popular right now. Additionally, rides like Twister and Disaster, although my favorite type, take too long to process people through. A Transformer style ride is obviously much more efficient as a people mover. Adios Twister and Disaster - you will be missed!

No offense but twister looked cool but now it sucks it would be nice to have a ride about New York because I live in New York xD in Manhattan
universal studios will loose alot of business with these changes. Not only is this ride gone, but they have gotten rid of Jaws, Back to the future, King Kong. E.T. is the other ride that is in the process of being replaced. Will not go back.

Thank god they finally removed this. It was only a matter of time. As for the Jimmy Fallon ride... I like Jimmy but I'm not sure how well it will hold up. Seems a but silly for a ride.
