I was a fanatical disciple of Cwicly and became a bad human when someone criticised it. Watching this video made me realise how stupid I was when accusing Kevin for orchestrating Cwicly’s downfall. That’s a good thing! Now I will subscribe to Kevin and stay sober.

You are spot on when describing the two camps of returners to Cwicly. I was that emotional dude, but finally woke up when watching this video.

Glad to hear that you're ditching Google products, I also went through that path years ago. It feels great to regain control on your data, especially when going with self-hosted opensource solutions.

You may have overlooked the fact because WP is huge, millions of newcomers are coming yearly, and they will not be bothered by this drama. Look at the Breakdance builder now being among the most popular underdog challengers for Elementor.

Very true but people often ask others before choosing a builder and that’ll slow down growth

    Let me put this timeline
    00:00 - Introduction & greetings
    02:00 - Cwicly discussion
45:30 - Headline: Kevin divorces google and explains why, she isn't happy about it and she wants him back. (Is this a good copywriting?)
@gearyco: If you are reading this.
#Q - I missed the live stream, after watching it back my question is:
What's your opinion on Microsoft Exchange for emails and One drive for storage?

If no google ads, what's the alternative? Or have i misunderstood something?
I'm all for stickin it to the man, but seems a bit hard for me to get clients the same results minus google ads (in some cases)

By the way, I think Louis is a kind, warm-hearted person with an artistic soul who simply isn’t made for the role he put himself into. We all excell at different roles and different things in life, and shit happens when we try to be in the spot we aren’t “made for”. Sure, one can improve in anything, but I believe leadership is especially something that you have to have the “seed” in yourself. Quite similarly as it’s the case for art. It’s a way of being, and you can’t teach someone to be creative.

Hi Gary, I love watching your videos and you have a great way of explaining technical Web related stuff.
I do have a comment that could half the length of your videos ! The one and the only thing that I find very frustrating is that you say the same sentence three times. Every time you say a point, you then repeat that point, and quite often even repeat it a third time.
I’m sure it doesn’t bother anybody else and I’m probably unique in finding it quite frustrating. I actually find myself listening to a sentence and then wishing I could fast forward 5 to 10 seconds after every sentence you say so that I can skip the bits where you repeat the same sentence again, And again.
I realise this is probably your own mannerism and I’m sure you don’t even notice it that’s fine. I just thought I’d point it out because sometimes your videos are quite long and I know that the same video that is 30 minutes long could easily be 20 minutes long if you didn’t repeat everything.
Having said that, I will continue to watch your videos as I find the subject matter very interesting and I’ve been in the industry over 45 years! Keep up the good work mate.

one of the only reasons why I still use screwtube is because content creators like yourself haven't migrated to Rumble. Someone needs to take the first step and start switching viewers to other platforms. It has taken time for many other, yes mainly political, content creators to move but it is starting to be successful. The community "over there" will grow as valuble content followers, follow the content and people they trust.

GutenBricks is something that demonstrates how all this can be done without having to get down in the weeds with JS/REACT. Design in a pro tool (Bricks) hand off to content creaters who have different chops other than front end development. Works best in a big organisation with multiple teams with various disciplinnes.
