Had my second event on Saturday and unfortunately forgot to bring my GoPro, luckily my cousin who was running his S2000 for the day went on a ride along w me and recorded one of my runs.
Unfortunately, the recorded run was a DNF due to missing the second box in the first lap, out of 6 total runs I had 3 clean runs and 3 DNFs. With only 26 cars out for the day I placed 6th out of 11 in my class and 9th out of 26 overall. Ran my new set of PF01s (18x9 +35) & Yokohama Advan Apex V601s (255/35/18) and figured out tire pressure too!
First clean run was 2:12 timing and my best was 1:59, for the day. Leader was at 1:41 so given it was only my second event and I was completely stock in an AWD Forced Induction class w/ modified vehicles I was more than happy to put down the times I did. Also had the chance to slide the back end out when I finally realized that turning traction control off was necessary and that was a lot of fun.
Excited to keep grinding and getting better, I’ll probably be joining some Windy City Miata events soon to continue to improve. First track day is set for October for Subie Speed Expo at Gingerman!
