This video features 3 Discipline Priest Outlaw Rogues games between 2400 and 2500 MMR. More Disc games because I like it. I picked games where the enemy team had me as their kill target to give a few examples on how to survive as Disc (besides having a solid teammate).

Damn, love the side notes about what goes on and how to react, very interesting even as a dps player to look at and maybe identify situations as a dps player on what your healer is about to do so u dont overlap anything when ur healer is using cds
Edit: but the actual rating where u belong must def be higher than those games, ur pre barriers and anything that u do is way too calculated and predictive, ur reading them like a book 😮
Thanks, that is nice ! I peaked higher as Priest in the past, but I haven't actually played more than two sessions above Elite this season. In the end it is simply an alt ! The issue I have when playing it is that every second game I'm going to face someone who is maining his Priest and is playing Holy on top, so ... difficult ! As for the pre stuff I would say most of the game vision you can have carries over between characters, so the fact that I did have much higher rating on my Rogues helps me there.

Nice games! It's good to see disc at higher ratings, everyone jumped on the holy train but I just think disc is way more fun. I struggle sometimes when I get trained by melee, especially fury (I swear the nerfs did nothing). Watching you deal with them is helpful.
I also enjoy playing Disc a lot lot more than Holy. Holy has moves, but, I don't know. I always favored Discipline.

Do you have a guide? What talents, covenant, and legendary do you run? 4 set bonus?
I do not have a Disc guide, I simply play it as an alt !
Talents : Castigation, Body and Soul (Masochism against Warriors and DKs when I don't forget), Solace, Psychic Voice, Sins of the Many, Purge of the Wicked, Lenience.
Honor Talents : Radiance (always, works with the set bonus), Blazing Light, Inner Light and Shadow played as Shadow. If I am Kyrian and need Dome of Light (against Assa, Fury, etc) I replace Inner Light and Shadow as blazing Light buffs Ascended Blast, and if I am playing Night Fae I replace Blazing Light for Dome (and then in that situation if I have to play a healing heavy game I play Inner Light and Shadow as Light).

4Set : Of course ! That is what gives Discs enough healing to compete.

I would say it depends on what you play with. If you play with an Outlaw Rogue Kyrian is usually a better pick because Outlaw Rogues have a lot of lockdown for the enemy team, allowing you to freely cast your Boon, and they can use the extra burst damage to land kills. Also Night Fae doesn't benefit Outlaw all that much. If you play with, say, a Feral, they have less lockdown than Outlaw Rogues, making it harder to safely cast Boon, and a lot more self healing so you can play Night Fae for the added damage reduction, and cooldown reduction on Berserk, as it will give more burst damage to the Feral and make it easier to stay alive longer. But to be honest at the moment Kyrian is so powerful that it overshadows Night Fae in many situations in which Night Fae should be better imo. I really like to play NF Disc myself, but around 2350 I just went Kyrian becaue it made many things easier.
As for the talent difference as Kyrian I always go Ultimate Radiance, Blazing Light, Inner Shadow. I pick Dome of Light instead of Inner Shadow against Ret, Fury, Arms, Assassination, and sometimes Feral. I pick Dome of Light and Double Dispel instead of Inner Shadow and Blazing Light against Rogue/Mage. As Night Fae I do the exact same thing but I replace Blazing Light instead of Inner Shadow when I need Dome of Light because I don't need Blazing Light to empower Ascended Blast, and I believe that overall 10% more damage flat + 10% more Atonement healing beats 30% more damage to Penance, but that point is actually fairly debatable, I didn't actually verify that ever since the talent got buffed from 15% from 30%. It is just a feeling. And as Night Fae I sometimes go Inner Light when I have to play Dome of Light and the match-up will be mana-draining, like against a Fury Warrior. But as a general rule if you play offensive talents you always play Shadow regardless of your Covenant because you need it to have the extra bit of damage that makes Atonement healing viable. As Disc if you aren't able to heal with Atonement most of all, then it means you have to hardcast heals a lot, and you run out of mana, even with Inner Light. Also the more you heal without Atonement the less damage you do, so the less pressure your team does, so the more damage you'll end up taking, and you'll hvae to ehal it, etc etc. Vicious circle. It is important to try and force Atonement healing as much as possible, even if you're not topped off. You just need to know when it is important to start casting those couple Shadowmends to top yourself (for example a few seconds before a Kidney Shot, then you heal). The rest of the time, damage it is.

One thing i can add to the discussion is that Masochism is an underrated talent in 2s: I think is playable in 90% of matchups (except maybe for hunts and rm) especially with speed ring, blazing light and korayn soulbind; it makes me feel safer and also it let me play insigna instead of BM which is huge for our offensive pressure. I’m seeing disc rise up a bit and happy about it. I just leveled one up. Would you ever go schism to increase burst goes? Or is the extra penance bolt better in the long run? Thanks
I think playing Schism to increase the burst can be fun because you may see big numbers, but in the long run I don't think it is extremely viable. Schism can be interrupted when the burst window is here, and it can only be used for damage, whereas Penance (buffed by Castigation) can be used for healing and also damage, and always guarantees the first bolt even if interrupted (but yeah you'd lose on Castigation if you let yourself be interrupted on Penance). Also Penance is buffed by your 4Set in a quite significant manner. I really think investing everything you can in Penance is important.

I prefer Castigation, personally. Twist of Fate is nice when it gets to proc, but overall Catigation is more healing and more damage because you're not supposed to let your team drop in execute range often. And also Penance with only 3 bolts feels so slow ... Mostly talking about 2s though. When I did a glad on Priest last season I was playing Twist of Fate a bit more, because against some comps like Jungle or RMP since you will get CC'ed your team is likely to drop low by the end of the CC chain, so you can swap these two talents around more.
hey really enjoyed the vid! I'm playing at around 2200-2300 with a rogue, WW monk, or dk typically. i struggle hard with throughput/keeping up with heals against necro Havoc DH's, any advice for the matchup?
Necro DH is difficult because they don't really have one burst CD on a 2-ish minutes cooldown that you can mitigate. Their burst lasts for longer and they just have high damage so you'll be forced to heal eventually, and that's what Disc is weak at. One thing you hvae to do is make sure you don't hold CDs back during Meta. There isn't a big scary CD like wings or vendetta you have to answer, so just rotate your different cooldowns during his meta to make sure you are able to keep up. You also need either to be able to fear the guy behind pillars when your DPS is on the healer, or ask your teammate to make sure he lands CC on the DH throughout the game to give you time to breathe. And then do as much damage as you can to heal his damage with yours, the moment he forces you to spam Shadowmend forever is when you start losing !
I haven't done the campaign, so what do you recommend for Pelagos?
A path that lets you get the same conduits I have with Mikanikos, probably. But Mikanikos is close to mandatory as it reduces the CD of Boon on top of giving a lot of damage with the DoT. Without Mikanikos Kyrian is much less interesting.
What addons do you use that shows your spells that you used on the left scrolling across the screen

The one that gives you more max HP for 15s. Used to be Battlemaster, hence BM.
Gah. I'm hard stuck at 2050 on disc. I'm trying mainly with an outlaw and.im rolling kyrian. And if it's anyone else I'm nightfae but damn, sometimes like, when a ww or fury warrior Is just absolutely training me, esp when they have duelist/elite gear and I'm I'm rival 2 I just cannot out heal/kite their damage. Only a few days left to hit duelist. Don't know if I'll make it.
Disc can't move much against the specs you mentioned. You really heavily rely on your partner giving you time to breathe by CC'ing or killing the melee harassing you. MC'ing a target low-ish on health off a Kidney when the healer isn't a Shaman or a Priest and thus can't purge MC is also nice to avoid damage, and get closer to the next Kidney without the enemy playing the game.

You can still play Disc with Warrior. Both Night Fae and Kyrian work.
