I never played the demo, I justed owned the USA game.
But I do remember the fisherman helping like this? Is it used in the actual game at some point?
It's been awhile for me.

In the actual game there's a bunch of other fishermen in the area. Some of them serve no purpose aside from some short dialogue, while one of them gives you the Bird Clothes and Mermaid Scale items. The dialog from the fisherman in this video isn't found anywhere (and was also removed from the game's files).

That's actually music from the Japanese version. The JP version has a compeletely different soundtrack.
