For same reason, I went with Redmi note 10 pro last month just to try a Redmi.. I think it is still better than the 12 especially since I only want a 4G. 5G is not yet that available everywhere anyway.

i own the 10 pro and i can confirm that it is an excellent smartphone: great picture quality, screen colors and refresh rate and 5000 mA of battery is more than enough to handle simple tasks like scrolling on tik tok or watching TH-cam videos.
The snapdragon gives good overall performance in avery game, even in the most intensive ones.
I don't think that i would have chosen the 12 pro even at the same price
