Went there today with my brother. From the recent rain the clay dirt was nice and packed, plus no wind. Perfect conditions for these trails. Definitely going back there again.
My son and I rode here the weekend following the initial opening when it was 100 plus degrees out. From the drop off at the trail head you will do a bit of climbing, the green trail 1/3 of the back end and 1/3 of the blue trails start. We did the same walked the initial portion of the start of the blue trail. After transiting from the vista, the trails have really good flow. Overall I’m looking forward to the future of the park. The restaurant at the entrance of the park is good, so if you intend to eat there buy the meal ticket that will save you some money. They really need to keep the web page updated as they have run a DH event here since our visit that we knew nothing about! They do need to add a few pulloff sections because it’s nothing worse than bombing down a trail only to almost plow into a group having a leisurely shoot the shit in the middle of the trail. Looking forward to heading back up soon as it an hour or so from my home. Also saves me a lot of time not having to drive 3 plus hours to big bear during the season. In the summertime you will cross paths with large rattlers.
