This is exactly what I needed…most videos show steaming on professional boilers with instant on and full steam…which create microfoam in about 5 seconds…this is so much more realistic to the way I brew at home on my Breville. The timer was the key…thank you thank you thank you.
Best steaming tutorial out there, by a wide margin... I probably watched a dozen or so. Bravo!! Seems you have that nice gift of understanding what people know / understand and what they don't know / don't understand.
Fantastic video! I’ve just got my new machine set up today, can’t wait to get experimenting. Feel like it’ll take me a long time to get to a good level with it
Thank you! This was one of the most helpful videos I’ve found on how to steam milk. The 15-20-25 sec comparisons were so informative for diagnosing what I’m doing wrong right now. Can’t wait to try out a new method in the morning!
this is the most perfect video I have seen on TH-cam, I've been using this machine for 3 months, and sometimes I end up with liquid textures and sometimes latte textures, all by random. I thought my machine is broken down or something wrong with the wand or steaming pressure. thank you for detailing this issue, really appreciate your video.
OK, this is the real deal, I used this persons instructions and I got the right milk texture for my oat milk. Best latte art milk tutorial there is. Thank you!
You've helped me understand that home machines need more time to stretch the milk! I was stuck with hot, thin milk with froth just on top no matter how many tutorials I watched. Thank you for showing all of this in real time!
Best video abt correct way to froth milk for latte art. I have seen plenty and this one is simple and informative. Showing it thru clear glass is brilliant. Plus giving us different results by frothing it thru different times is very helpful in what kind of milk we want to have.
I just got my breville barista express and have practically made every mistake imaginable. I've also watched almost every video on the topics, and I agree you can't learn an to "feel" how to froth (or at least i can't). I'm getting better, but this gives me a SOLID way to measure my approach. I wish I would have viewed your video way sooner. Thanks!
Hows the presure of the steamer sir?are they same from coffeeshop presure?.because i have branded machine also. But the presure from steamer to bad. And i cant colab the beans properly.
Oh my gosh thank you!! I’ve had my machine since December and Ive finally frothed my milk correctly to do latte art! It was just a blob today but I’m so excited 😊
I learned a lot here. I thought we needed to stop adding air at a certain temp. Makes sense that we can control the texture of the milk with the amount of time we incorporate the air. Of course it also depends on how much milk you start with. This is very helpful, thank you!
Thank you for making this video! I've watched so many frothing videos for the barista express and as a beginner none of them really taught me as well as your video! I love how you showed where the wand tip should be placed and that was very informative! I know then that's where I kept messing up!
For Sage Barista Express owners still struggling: The first bit where you add the air and increase the volume of the milk is incredibly important. If you don't do enough of this you won't get anywhere and it won't matter what you do afterwards. I've been doing this with Oatly oat milk, and I have to do the first bit of adding air for a good 40-45 seconds MINIMUM. I can then start to see the volume of the milk increase by around 10-20%. That's when I know I've added enough air, and I can move to the next bit and lower the wand to create the vortex until it comes to the right temperature. Play around with the first stage and see how long you need to do it for, might take a few tries and you might go through a few cartons of milk before you get the hang of it! If you're finding that your milk is always too thin at the end, this is probably your issue. I hope this helps someone out there, as it was driving me mad!
First quantitative video on the Breville Barista Express on milk frothing with simple tools and easy to master techniques. Thank you so much! All thumbs up!
@@KatEsclamado Your video has inspired me to keep trying and the tools to improve my techniques. I am happy to report that I too can make textured milk now. Thank you for making it so easy for us!!!!
*Update* Tried it 3 times today and it didn't work. Thank you so much! I’ve watched a couple of videos and learned the technique (tip of the wand in, wait for jug to warm, lift the jug up) but I’d always mess up! It wasn’t any clear direction and I’d hope for the best. I love that you’ve shown it with a clear glass cup and that you’ve shown what a cappuccino looks like and why you would create watery milk. I like that you’ve shown the moment when air when getting in because I never knew. I’m trying this tomorrow and fingers crossed I get it right! I’ll update you! Thank you
Oh ! I’ve been struggling so much to get the perfect milk for a cappuccino and now I see this easy to follow video. I’ll try it tomorrow morning. Thanks for that ! 😀
Thank you! That was so helpful. Showing the tip in the glass of water was a great idea, and the three different time lengths of frothing was great to see the difference for each. Great video!
Well done and thankyou. I bought the Barista Express 3 weeks ago and told my wife by the time lockdown ends I’ll make her a latte with heart art served up with her breakfast......so far no good🤔 time was running out. Milk texturing was the key and you are my saviour👍☕️
I am having trouble with the milk , your video is impecable !!! I agree that the glass clear with water help me more . I will practice this afternoon ..try so many this morning got so desappointed with my self ,after finding you I have Hope !!!!! Thank youuuuuuu Kat
Thank you so much for making this video, it’s the clearest out of many that I’ve watched and has helped me so much! I’m definitely the sort of person who needs numbers rather than going purely by sound/instinct 😂
That’s the only one tutorial one youtube that finally explains how to get nice milk for latte art, time, aeration...Finally got good results after watching this tutorial and no more wasting milk. Thank you
I watched a lot of videos on TH-cam and couldn’t get perfect milk for latte art. 25seconds aeration seems to be just perfect for whole milk using Breville Barista express. After watched this video I got a perfect milk on my first try. Yeeeey! ))
This is EXACTLY what I needed to see. Just got this exact machine (upgraded from a cheap one that would foam milk easily) and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Thank you so much!!
This is the first video that I've seen that explains the difference of timing in introducing air to steaming the milk.🤯 My milk kept coming out too thin like your first example and I couldn't figure out wth I was doing wrong. I'm going to make me a latte using your techniques when I get home. Thankyou!!!! 🥳
You have no idea how excited I was to see this video! Using the glass to show the wand positioning was super helpful. I have watched many other videos on how to do this and this one has helped me the most ! I’ve had my Breville for a year and I still can’t froth milk and my shots of espresso are not that good either. I can’t wait to see your other vids. Thanks a lot!
I have been watching loads of milk steaming video not by far this one is the best it uses the same machine that I have. This is so underrated thank you for this priceless video!
My experience for home machine (weak steamer) like this is about 20 seconds of stretching (paper tearing sound). Start counting after about 5 seconds of starting so the steam power is at its maximum and the milk has a slight whirlpool. Or just simply feel the milk started to be warm, then raise the jug until the right temperature. That is the sweet spot for latte art pouring.
This has surely got to be the best tutorial for frothing milk with this machine. I have had 0 success yet at doing any half decent latte art with this coffe maker having watched countless videos, most using frother capabilities much better then sage/breville's. The distinct/longer air introducing phase makes sense for this weaker frother. Thank you!
Thank you so much!! Was struggling to actually texture my milk, and was just ending up with heated flat milk. Now I’m starting to get cafe style results (no where near as good yet but on the right track)
Kat, your video is amazing!!! Thank you so much. I was struggling a lot! My machine (Sage barista) used to scream at me 😅 but simple moves in your video helped me to achieve foam using almond milk 🥛🤎🤎🤎
I just got my Barista Express and omg i was struggling alot with making my milk fluffy and creamy like the second one and I always ended up with the first one . But today i followed your video and it worked !! So happy ! I also pulled a decent shot today , so happy 😭
This video needs way more views! I watched tons of videos and this one was the best. Tried steaming after this video and it was day and night difference!
Thank you for this. I've been struggling with my frothing, and as you've said, with other people's clips I've watched, they haven't been clear at all. Here I go 🤞😁
Excellent video. I’d tried and failed multiple times using my breville and I was finally able to produce a delicious cup after watching this video. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. I've been struggling to get the right consistency and also realize I've been overheating my milk. I appreciate the time you put into making this. ☕☕☕😊😊😊
I’ve just discovered your video and made the best flat-white I’ve ever made. I’ve really struggled with texturing milk but your explanation of wand positioning was so clear. Thank you so much. 👍🙏
one of the best videos i watched for milk frothing and also one of the best videos i watched with detail guidance. Well done and thank you very much for your time and effort to show us.
If your experience it takes a several or a lot of times to get your milk right with barista pro breville. You want the contrast to be nice and brown around the latte art and not cloudy. For me it took me probably a month to get the milk right and make gorgeous latte art. Great video!
Thanks for your input. That’s still a challenge for me, to have a nice bed of espresso to pour my latte art without any haziness. Still working on it! 👍🏼
Your video WAS AMAZING it helped me SO much! After watching so many videos yours was JUST WHAT I NEEDED to steam the perfect cup of milk for my espresso. THANK YOU!!! ☕️✨☕️
Just saw you post this on the Breville FB page. Great video! Something I struggle with so this gives me renewed hope. You have a new follower! Thank you!
I have been trying to make latte art for so long but can never seem to get the milk right! This is the first video I have seen that has left me feeling confident to now make latte art!
thx for sharing ...finally a good tutorial for those who doesn't have like a 6000 EURO machine at home. Good to know it needs more than just 5 seconds hahah
Well done. The good thing of Sage| Breville 875 is the steam wand. It can swirl 360 degree. Just same as commercial coffee machine. You can find any position that suit you. First, let the front part that has the hole just above the milk, it makes some big milk bubbles, then make the steam wand deep and find it a home that can make the milk swirls in the jug, that’s it
had my machine 2 weeks ago and have been trying to froth.. no success yet for now.. been watching your video over and over, hopefully I will be able to make some latte art soon!
