By FAR my fav is Fresh Fish. The spatial puzzle and auctions make it a thinky tactical game and depth of the game becomes more apparent the more you play.
Still remember that Saturday night at Spiel'19 when its been the Dice & Mystics game night. Me and a friend having setup Fast Sloths in a side room when Tom after a long day at the fair joined us for a couple minutes to take a breather. He did not seem impressed that much of the game that night so happy to see it as #1 now. Not to mention Tom made my friends night by topping off getting to Spiel with that short interaction.
The first time I played 2014 Fresh Fish with the "classic" rules is one of the most memorable, exciting games I have ever played. The crazy thing is I have played it half a dozen times since then and it's like that EVERY TIME. I love the way the board looks as it fills in, too, great wooden pieces. Also shouting out Fuji Flush. A game of Uno where temporary alliances form and then dissolve in the span of five seconds. Amazing.
My favorite Friedmann Friese game, the only one I own, is Fauna. I was surprised you didn't mention it until I looked it up and saw he never published it under 2F. I wonder how many of his games aren't published under 2F.
An often overlooked game by him is Factory Manager! Has a lot of the same tension as Power Grid, but played in less than half the time. Though it may have only been published under Rio Grande and never under 2F.
Fully agree on fast sloths. When we had to demo it at Essen with stronghold, we, the crew, tried to have more tables of it, because we all really liked it, both the play and to explain. It is a game that suffered in sales because of its looks though
Hello, I'm from Bremen, Germany, like Friedemann Friese. His best game for me is Friese's Landlords. I don't know if there is a difference between the german and the english version (because of the translation), but it's full of black humor and very confrontational.
Friday is a really great solo game, if you're in to that kind of thing.
So punishing yet so satisfying
I agree. That would be on my top 10 but not the top 2. Tom needs to play more solo games that are not campaign games
Ya know, I played Friday several times, and I found it kinda boring 🤷🏻♂️. Traded away.
PS - I’m a big solo player.

Friday is the only game of his I like, but I love it!

Fresh Fish! How did that not make the list?

The game itself is great, but I didn't like the setup for Factory Manager, much too fiddly.
Surprised Copycat didn't make the list. It was an interesting experiment and overall a pretty decent game.
Fuji Flush is crazy silly fun and one of my faves.

I thought the same at first
Fast Flowing Forest Fellers needs a mention just for the name . . .
Fun game too.
Would love to see a Top 10 Button Shy Games list 👍
Friday, Terra and Fauna.
I love Power Grid and that's definitely number one, but I haven't tried Fast Sloths.
Have you played Feierabend? Whats your opinion about it?
Power Grid is almost at Catan level of renown.
WHAT. No Five Cucumbers?!
No Black Friday?!
Top 10 games in 504?
I'm guessing Power Grid is your #1. Let's see if I am right. Staring vid now.
I love green and therefore you are wrong!
Fast sloths higher than power grid Tom is definitely losing it!!
