My $200,000 Comic Book Collection

- Dominic Andre shows off his $200,000 marvel comic book collection. Although comic books have their ups and downs, they are not always the best investments. I just enjoy collecting. In this video I showcase some of my comics, but I have around 50 major keys currently at CGC getting graded so when those arrive I'll be sure to make a video! I also have about 5,000 ungraded books in boxes. But too much work to go through them. But maybe I’ll do a live and showcase my total collection.
READ THIS Note***** because some people are getting triggered. This is just a video and isn’t representative of real life. The lights? Studio lights. No UV lights are hitting the books. Price of books? I have thousands more and I was taking into account my total collection, because saying “my $85,575.47 display comic collection only” isn’t much of a video title 😂. But yes my collection is large that isnt shown in the video. And in the video i am very clear, i was never a huge comic fan until i realized how valueable they are, and it wasnt about the money. But the hunt and idea these books stemmed multi billion dollar franchises which is just amazing to think about. I love history and the MCU cinematic universe. So the mix of those are comics which im learning more about daily and love! Drop some knwoledge in the comments about stories behind specific books!

If you are triggered by this video. I apologize. This is my apology video. I clearly upset sensitive people in the community and I would like to formally say… NO ONE CARES😅. Life isn’t that serious. I just got into collecting as I mentioned and I have a lot to learn. If that upsets you. I promise my life still goes on. But for the sake of engagement please leave your negative comments below 😂😂.
For those being really nice and supportive, thank you so much and leave any suggestions down below!
Thank you!
It is well done not a lot of comic book TH-camrs do them with this sort of cinematography. Thanks for this. I love marvel too 😊.
A lot of people gonna hate because you say you’re in it for the movies. But tbh the movies are what were a huge catalyst for comics
A lot of collectors are mad that new people can into comic book space. But it’s good. The more the better. One love
Galactagus
😂
dude doesn't even read comics and has one of the best collections i have ever seen. also it's Glact-us
30-40 books sent off to CGC, waiting to get those grades back. Excited! I’m in love with catalyst collectibles as I call them. But also love marvel.
@@benthomason1926 haha never said I was a super fan of the comics, I am of the marvel cinematic universe. But apologies if that offended you:(
Based on some of the grades, I'm thinking $200,000 might be a little generous value.
I have 50 books at cgc. Will do an update video when they arrive
There are no real keys in this collection
Just a little 😂

@@dominicandremoneyexcited for update. Your room is dope
Great collection. I love the display.
I wish It’s time to support anyone in comics tbh it’s good for people to spread the word that comics have value and are collectibles!
Looking forward to an update. Great room and great collection ❤
I'm with you, MB.
Well is it really? If you spread the Word that they have value, then the hobby Will be ruined for the real collectors who love the hobby and love comic books. Moreover, this Will lead to people who do not like comic books to try and flip them.
Love the display. Totally agree with you on purchasing key comics from EBay. I always get better deals there as opposed to anywhere else. 👍
Hi Dominic. Your display is really nice. Also, I appreciate the time you spent on the production. It seems like you've learned a lot about comics already. Keep learning and posting.
Nice collection and display! Everyone has their own story on why they got into collecting so keep doing you
Thanks for the vid
Thanks for opening up and sharing. Don't feed the trolls. Haters gonna hate. I dig your love and humility. Keep on collecting what you like and learn all you can. Bunch of gatekeeping pricks who are actually jealous you had that kind of money to spend and didn't spend on what they would. Jealous little bitches.
I hope you keep making more. I'll watch them all. I'm interested to see your follow up and see your journey going forward.
Peace and happy collecting.
dont listen to the haters bro! You collect what you enjoy, keep the good vibes, you got an upvote and new sub
Thank you, yeah I’ve posted about politics, religion and more on my main pages. This videos gotten the most people triggered 😂 I didn’t realize how Sensitive many in the community are. But there have been awesome people being supportive which is cool! Thank you again!
Kinda sad that you view comics more as a valuable asset rather than great entertaining books that are meant to be read and enjoyed. They are not meant to be treated as some valuable relics. The writers and artists deserve to have their work read and appreciated.
Most of the artists are dead, they don’t care. Kids enjoyed them back in the 60s and 70s they had their appreciation back in the day
@@ifreezetvcomics he literally says he didn’t grow up on comics and most of his knowledge comes from the movies. He only got into this “hobby” as an investment.
@@TheUnstoppableBar have you ever been to comicon comic books are an investment. People make money off of comic books. It’s just business. Yes people can read comic books but the amount of people who read comic books has significantly dropped and are more collectors now.
I think it's great that we have somebody who doesn't know anything about comic books but still collects LOL
lol yeah they let me forgo the quiz you have to take before collecting historical items. I got special privilges, they said it’s only for Justin. But I asked nicely and they said okay we can make an exception.
This is how we learn first we buy with comic books
Nice collection! Time for the big boy books like AF15, ASM1, FF1!
Awesome setup and collection! Looks like your channel isn't only about comics, but I'm definitely going to check out the rest of the content, because it all looks interesting! Great audio and video work as well! And don't let the haters in the comments get to you - collect what you want, how you want! Excited to see more from you in the future!
Great video, appreciate you sharing it!
Haha sorry I say galactucus, i have speech issues I said it wrong when I first learned it and I struggle to reprogram myself I’m aware 😂😂 apparently you can’t be a fan if you struggle with speech.
Stop grading them and read them comics were meant to be read hate graded books to keep sending them out to CGC is a waste of time
@@jamessocha8765 I have thousands ungraded.
@@jamessocha8765 but I’ll open them and read through them. Ripping the wolverine out now
While I'm no fan of speculators most, if not all, comics can be read online now. If I pay a couple hundred of thousand dollars for a book the less handling the better.
@@jamessocha8765oh shut up. People collect for all different reasons. More people collect these days more for the art. Also why would i want to read a comic book written in 1965 for children? Have you ever tried reading early amazing spidey or x-men? I Have. They’re terrible and don’t hold up. You’re just jealous you can’t afford half the stuff on his wall so you hide behind the “i’m a real
collector yada yada” lol loser
I want to be the first to welcome you to the Hobby! Thank You for sharing your video and love for comic books and feel sorry for those who have nothing to share but jealousy and hate! I don't generally think of biblical stories in everyday life (maybe I should more often) but Cain and Abel came to mind! Anyways, tangent aside Thank You once again for sharing!
I’ve been reading comics for years, love Marvel and DC and decided a few weeks ago to take the plunge and start collecting them in CGC grades. I started off with Venom 1# signed by Donny Cates as I love that front cover and it’s the start of a really good few years on Venom. I’ve got a signed Stan Lee Superior Spider-man Issue 1# coming this week which i’m super excited about! Got a really good deal on that. And i’ve got my eyes on King in Black 1#, Secret Empire 1#, Silver Surfer Black, Venom Lethal Protector 1#, and a few other books all signed by the artists, authors and creators 🙂 it is so damn expensive though 😂 really have to know what you’re looking for
very helpful, worth the watch
Thanks a ton, this was super helpful!
John romada 😂😂😂 just teasing, it’s an awesome thing that novices are into the hobby 🙏
wow, great video. thanks so much
Great show guys, thank you
ill definitely try that, thanks!
Fantastic vid!!! Thanks a lot!
I’m looking to get a copy of that star lord comic you highlighted - it’s not the first appearance though, that came in an earlier magazine sized issue.
I have a few of the original ones, but that was the first appearance with the rewrite of him.
do you think you'll still be collecting in a few years?
100%, I’m getting ready to get AF15 and then the goal is to get the first Superman. But I was waiting to build the museum room in my house after the remodel.
If you do a update video, you should show all the graded comics in your collection, in this video Its hard to see what you have cause they are all on a wall. Movie scripts, Posters, props and statues don't count toward a Comic Book Collection. I would call that a Super Hero Collection. I would love to see a updated video.
I appreciate it! Yeah, I never intended to make more than one video on comics. My team just wanted me to share videos about all the different hobbies and ways that I spend my money. Plus saying how many comic book fans are getting sensitive and upset by the video isn’t really worth the time. But I’ll keep you updated! I have too many books around the house. Slowly building a museum room in my main house for all the things I collect.
Do you collect Marvel Lego minifigures?
Excellent collection!!! Great delivery!!!!
Comic books aren't worth what YOU paid to get them... they are worth what people are willing to pay... that JIM 85 isn't even a $6K book. Just because you paid inflation prices during the pandemic's collectible boom doesn't mean they are worth that. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
P.S. Beautiful display room and great cinematography.
P.S.S. More Blue Chip Keys.
Yeah of course, most of them dropped in price heavily, I think I mention that in the video
@@dominicandremoneyYou said "a couple thousand", sure... you also mentioned it's a $200K collection and grossly misrepresented the values of your books... but play on playa. 🍵 🐸
@@RevengeOfTheNerd actually no, I have over 50 books at CGC. Sometimes you can’t know everything from a chopped up video. Which is why I didn’t just go through all books. If this upsets you, maybe you need to work on yourself.
@@RevengeOfTheNerd but I’ll teach you some basics of TH-cam. There is this new thing called a video description, often times you learn a lot when you read it. I suggest you go do that, and educate yourself before getting upset and your feelings hurt. Thanks
@@dominicandremoney teach yourself some integrity.
Keep collecting, I love it have been doing it for 20years. There are so many cool ones out there. Also check out some independents. The New Transformers and Cobra are fire.
New to it for sure! Had a few comics growing up, but never to this degree. Thank you!
what's your address i need to ''see'' this comics for myself
👍 😊
Better than my measly 7 slabs. Congrats.
Man! Not throwing any hate or anything but please! Take into account the UV exposure! 😢 that light seems too bright and UB damage inside CGC cases is real!
No worries, there is no UV light. These are studio lights for shooting videos. The room has no direct sunlight or even indirect.
why do you say galactus so weird its galactus not galactucus
Hey man just seen another comic collector, showing your video trying to bash it. listen man you doing OK little inexperienced but keep grabbing good books and if you like them buy them you have more money than probably half the people that watch that other guys video so just tell them stop hating on me and I will keep buying books that you can’t afford. Good job man.😮😮😮
Thank you, yeah just learning about how sensitive some parts of the community can be. But it’s okay:) I got the money the buy what I want and just love the history behind the books!
Yea man good stuff when they hate jus say I got money so beat it lol

Try researching the Top 100 Goldenage books. You might change your direction 👍🏾. Otherwise, buy what makes you happy.
Agree with Omega. So many great options out there....and the golden age is super fun!
@4:10 Went straight to the comments
It's not only because of a character appearing in a movie that a book will go up in value.
Correct yeah
Some nice blue chip comics. Keep checking the prices
Unfortunately bud the collecting community is very much a ego hased community, everybody thinks they're right. I appreciate the fact that your honest about your reasoning and interest, and I'm happy you found a middle ground between what you call "Catalyst" collectibles and value, thats how the collecting bug starts and eventually something will catch your eye, i do recommend you check out anything by Jonathan Hickman, Jeff Lemire and others i cant name. Welcome to the collecting hobby/self destructive community 😂💪👏🎉
my collection is over $500,000 spanning 40 years
How does one get a hold of movie script 😮
Awesome collection!
Whoever told you that's the first app of Star- Lord Lied to you.
That’s the first appearance of the rework. I have the actual first appearance too. But they are larger cases that don’t fit on the wall since they are the 14x8 or whatever the size is books.
Great video. The hate is from crusty collectors upset you have such great books but as you admit, are not some life long comic fan - just gatekeeping.
OMG, it's not triggering, but misinformation is annoying. I appreciate you are new, and your display is fantastic, but some of your information is incorrect. Starlord's 1st appearance is in Marvel Preview Magazine #4. The Marvel Spotlight #6 is his 1st appearance in comics format and is worth about 60 bucks in a 9.8, whereas the other one goes for about 1 grand in the same grade. Based on what you said, you overpaid, but I've always said a comic is only worth what someone is willing tom pay for it. As long as you feel you didn't get hosed, than it's all good. Your FF #48 was a good deal.
Impressive collection
Make another comic video please
I don't display my books , you fade the colors when you do . hopefully you don't display them . they are not UV safe cases !
There is zero UV light in this room. Thank you for looking out though
As a younger collector, I want to apologize for all these old neck beard collectors that get offended when new people enjoy the hobby
Hulk 181 9.0 has gone down to 6500 now so that’s a loss of 4500.00
As of today one sold on ebay for 5300
It’s getting hammered hard. Good lord
@@2hugebros241 No worries bro. If you don't need to sell them. Your still going to be up in the long run. It will go to the moon again once the economy gets better! A+ Stream Brother!
That is true as everyone who is a collector loves that book. As it’s the Af 15 of the bronze era
I got to tell you, this is a middle of the road collection, not exactly something to be showing off, yet even still, I think this guy knows as much about comic books as I do about being black... I'm white...
This page is just a personal page of things I do. I never claimed this is the best collection or anything. If this upsets you. I urge you to create a video with your collection and make a comic page. If you think I said this was the best collection or top tier please let me know what part so my team can edit that out. Thank you
@@dominicandremoney well I do have a very good collection, but my ego isn't damaged enough (and my job is actually quite good as well) that I need public affirmation from strangers about how I live my life. I think being an influencer like this is as close to prostitution as it gets without actually doing something illegal. I welcome you to try a little emotional security rather than feeding the abyss of creating a "brand" that seems embarrassing for you to anyone who is watching.
@@fortherestofmylife66 ahh the old “hate on influencers” when you are unhappy with your life. Look before I retired I was a therapist, and if someone’s video bothers you enough to comment. Not on your own page, but on someone else’s. You may be struggling with something. I built a large following on science education and getting fortunate enough to retire from it. I created a new page to show case hobbies and interests I pick up, I make no money from this, nor care to. But clearly someone hurt you or upset you. Somehow hating on sex workers in the mix of your comment. Leads me to believe there may have been infidelity in your relationships or you felt neglected. In all seriousness, it’s just a video and shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Sad to see a video from a stranger you clicked triggers you. Try just blocking the page and focusing on any internal struggles you may have
@@dominicandremoney hahaha yeah that's right, I'm sure you're a retired therapist, because if you were, you'd know the "hate on influencers" line is called a "deflecting projection" and an "unfalsifiable argument" and to answer all your very odd statements, my life is perfectly fine that's why I'm not on TH-cam or really any social media, I have a fully formed ego. But I'd love to know when exactly you retired? Do you have 401k benefits? Any S&P funds or retirement index? Yeah I will expand what I said before, you know about as much about making money as I do about being black... I'm white...
Guys please don’t try to gate keep collecting. It’s great that new collectors are jumping in. Not every collector has to read comics. I’m so busy now I don’t have time to read hardly anything. You made a solid video that obviously was influenced by Mr. Beast and others. Keep doing what you are doing there is no right or wrong way to collect. Seek advice from more experienced collectors most are happy to share knowledge.
