  • Fuel economy is a key focus of automotive engineering today. There are many techological methods to accomplish it, from hybrid drives to more efficient conventional internal combustion engines. But fuel-saving models can't do their job alone. The best technology is useless if the driver doesn't practice fuel efficient driving. At its Eco-Drive event, Ford shows a few simple tricks you can use to unlock the full potential of your engine and improve its fuel efficiency.

I don’t understand why when you put the Drive Mode into Echo it goes away when you turn the vehicle off. DUMN. You don’t loose your radio stations or your cell phone sink but the Drive Modes have to be reset each time you get in the vehicle. Come on FORD!

If you drive fast, you’re wasting gas. If you drive slow, you’re wasting your car.

Okay so any properly train driver should have already known most or all of these tracks and Ford being an American auto manufacturer doesn't invest too much in diesel engines because in the u.s. diesel is more expensive and sometimes it is so much more expensive that even the 20% savings you get in fuel economy still doesn't make up for the increased price of fuel per gallon in the US on diesel compared to gasoline as well as for some reason the very few times that the American Auto industry has tried to release their cars in the diesel version for the US market the EPA said no can't do it your car is won't meet emission standards and that's even when they trade doing it within the past 5 years and the new diesel emissions things have came out like diesel particulate filters in diesel exhaust fluid systems plus doing a pole with the American consumers less than half a percent of American consumers said that they would even think about buying a diesel because in the US diesel pickups are popular and most of those guys modify their trucks to roll coal or blow black smoke even brand new pickups with less than a thousand miles guys are putting aftermarket tunes on him and making him do that so in the US as well as their deleting the emissions on their trucks so in the US consumers associate diesels with still being loud stinky noisy annoying vehicles.
