Does any know how to help fir when I'm playing short when to move to the bag when someone is stealing

Victor Rivera ok, so if I'm playing short and the batter is a lefty I would cover the bag but what if the opposing team is doing a hit and run and I go to cover the bag and the batter hits it but is late and goes right to where I'm supposed to be?

This is one of the reasons that the hit and run exists. It's going to happen sometimes but you have to respect the steal and cover the bag. If not, then the other team will have runners in scoring position all day by taking an empty second base.
