There is also the Syrian Elephant (now extinct) which was 11ft 6in or 3.5m tall. Hannibals last elephant was called Surus meaning 'The Syrian' who was notable for only having 1 tusk.
I painted this set for my Carthaginian army a few weeks ago and I agree it’s an excellent kit. Another useful tip that I have seen others do is to use the spare half bodies to make a couple of casualty figures. Toothpicks for tusks and some green stuff to make an ear and it can look really effective. Look forward to seeing how you get on with these guys anyway.
Nice to see the Victrix elephants. Good models. I have loads of elephants from my former Warhammer ancient battles Indian, Carthaginian and Hellenistic armies and they are all metal so can’t justify these as well..... unless it’s a Beer Buy of course!

Mary Hinge Great ideas!!
What a great video! I learned a lot regarding the history of the elephants. Especially the “driver”.
Excellent!
very interesting review, thanks for your time and effort.
all the best to you,
Terry.
Thanks!
Does it come with a base to stick them on couldn’t see any in amongst the spruce?
It does not; you need to purchase that separately. I use bases from Sarissa Precision.
I have a strong urge to make a Alt-WW1 with elephants...
Sounds awesome! These are a bit too small for contemporary bush elephants though.
