Baxter is one of my favorite guitarists and he's coming to town. But as I feared, he's taking Dan songs and turning them into unrecognizable smooth jazz versions. Pass.
This is far from “smooth jazz” my friend, but that’s your right as an American to not appreciate his arrangements.
Fk, I’d give my left nut to meet this guy. Skunk is the epitome of a man who grew up in the electronic circuits of sound. Simply put this man is a wizzard of the highest order. He is one of the most classified men in the United States btw. We all owe Skunk such a debt of gratitude for keeping our great nation safe. What an amazing patriot also. His achievements in technology are absolutely astounding.
I was a close friend to the great Shawn Lane from Memphis. I don’t use the term loosely, Skunk is a true genius by any measure of the term. If you get the chance to see this man play live, run as fast as you can. Shake his hand and look him in the eye and say thank you. There will never be another skunk. Never.
Skunk, if you’re reading this, I love you man. I hope I get to shake your hand one day before we leave this Earth. You are a true inspiration for all of us musician/roadie/engineer types. Thank you for being such a great patriot also. I can hear the love that you have for our country in your voice. Thank you for all of your mind blowing achievements, none of which you’re able to talk about, that help keep all of us safe everyday. May God bless you infinity brother.
