Yeah, I've always been of the opinion that there's no better show to listen to than CBSRMT when installing toilet flappers. They just go hand-in-hand! :-)
My Aunt, sister and I used to listen to these every Sat nite we looked forward to bedtime as little kids because we got to listen to scary stories...lol. Brings back that feeling.....
7.31.2023 - One of my favorite episodes! Listening from Berea, Kentucky, on a cool and comfy summer morning. Coffee in hand, my “pet” yard birds eating breakfast.
I ❤️ these! As far-fetched as some of them might be, (it doesn’t stretch my suspension of disbelief that so many supernatural things could happen, like a moving mezzotint à la MR James, but also in this story - imagine finding two Renoirs and an undocumented Van Gogh in a house you inherited? That’s a stretch 😉Thanks so much 😊
I've just listened to 3 or 4 of these this afternoon, having one just come up in my feed. I didn't know there were so many of these things, and I had no idea they ran into the 70's, and I saw one dated early 80's. Back in the early 80's my mom and I were traveling to see grandparents for Christmas and we heard one of The Shadow stories. I was like 12 or so. Always wanted to listen to more. Also, another thought comes to mind... these are like The Twilight Zone for the radio. 😊
Did you know that The Shadow radio show is also on TH-cam? I’ll drop you a link if you can’t find it. Thanks, btw I had never heard of that one; you have me interested to listen to it, now 🙂 Cheers!
I think Ben will find out, about his past, if he continues to dig into the etching of this house. I do believe they, the adult Scooby gang, should have told Ben the whole story of what they found out.
Great to fall asleep to!!
It's rarely I get to the end, so I listen to them a few times. Reverse psychology, I try stay awake and I fall asleep 😂👍👍
Listening every night in snowy New England an hour from New Hampshire.. It's cool that tonight's in kinda local for me. Enjoy everyone!
That sounds idyllic. I would love to visit new Hampshire.
I’m in connecticut and it has yet to snow this season but enjoying every minute of this show as well!
Lovely

Sweeping and Mopping atm :-)
Wow! Love your channel! I enjoy listening to it everyday! Thank you soo much!!!
This is based on the M R James story The Mezzotint. One of my favorites. Story is much scarier.
It is. I know that story well. I agree, the original is scarier.
Only recently found this channel. Absolutely love it. Mesmerising. .Brilliant.😆.
Thank you sharing this wonderful story. ♥️
radio was great better than tv
Still is I don't even watch TV I just listened to radio well TH-cam 😘🙏💯
me to
This is the only episode I am aware of in which Himan Brown is not credited as the producer after the cast of actors is given by the host.
This story is an elaboration of an M.R. James story. I'm surprised he is not mentioned or properly credited.
I totally agree. They should have mentioned that it's based on 'The Mezzotint' by M.R. James.

Great story
Listening from Dayton, Ohio 😊, love these stories!
“Dad’s a shipping clerk in a large book company and mom’s just a housewife “
Betcha she also had domestic help, They couldn’t afford it today...
I'm just a housewife.
Awesome 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Gasp! They don't tell the guy but that is heavy to keep quiet about.
great story, thank you.
This was taken from a Night Gallery episode by Rod Serling.
There were also episodes that were taken from the Twilight zone and Alfred hitchcock presents. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Not an original idea- there is I am certain, a Victorian? era tale in which a figure moves a wee bit each day...I won't spoil the ending! Namaste
the mezzotint by mr james has the same idea
Twilight Zone movie the Cemetery with Roddy McDowall 1969 is similar and scared me on TV as a child lol
I think Ben will find out, about his past, if he continues to dig into the etching of this house. I do believe they, the adult Scooby gang, should have told Ben the whole story of what they found out.
Listening in Chicago !! Ashland and addison Blocks from Wriggly Field! Sept 9th 2024 !
6 min in. Is this some MR James Mezzotint action jumping off? I feel like it is
Relistening such a good one.
M. R. James' " The Mezzotint" came first. Plagiarism?.
It should've been credited at least. It's from the 19th century story, so likely long out of copyright.
Being adopted, I'm glad I didn't hear this in 1978 since they are calling the adoptive parents, foster parents. There's a big difference.
"The Cemetery" Night Gallery is similar
Yes I remember that one too. It was mad cool.
Just imagine all the things you were never told.
