Never mind flowers, Peter Dinklage won four Emmys. a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors' Guild Award for his role in Game Of Thrones, and this scene was a major part of why he did.
For his dwarf accent? I think Peter dinklage is great and this character was entertaining for sure but what the fuck was that accent even mean to be? Everyone else spoke with an English accent
And After he won Everything he pulled up the ladder behind him for other Little people by shaming Disney into Not Casting Little people as dwarves in the upcoming Snow White. He got a Lot of flak for that from other Little people that rightfully Complained about him because they were depraved of 7 jobs in a big blockbuster.
Actually, while having been nominated for a couple of individual awards for his work in season 4 Peter Dinklage did not win any that year - in reality, “this scene” played no part in his accolades over the 8 seasons of GOT.
"Watching your vicious bastard die gave me more relief than a thousand lying whores". One of the best lines and performance in the entire show. Or any show.
Alfie Allen was fantastic as Theon. Wanting to be accepted after being given to the Starks, no love or respect from his own father, trying to win affection by betraying the family that raised him, betrayed by his own men, captured, tortured, allowed to run just to be recaptured, tortured, brutalized and maimed, spirit completely broken. Severe PTSD…. Alfie did an amazing job with his performance reflecting all of that and more. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Hope you’re having a great day! 🤛😎👍🤟🤙
Dani endings are always a favorite of mine, but this was Peter Dinklages/ Tyrion Lannister Cinematic lifetime clip or in the top 3 in which people will remember him by in my opinion. This is peak GoT
Tywin used and played out Tyrion’s trial just so he could get Jaime. And Jaime realised it immediately. He knew Jaime loved Tyrion and could never let him die. Tywin only plays to win.
This episode was the episode where Tyrion became my Favourite Character in the series. “I’m guilty of being a dwarf!” Top tier writing. Hang on tight amber the game continues.
15:23 The word is asexual, but I would argue that Varys, having been castrated so young, never had the occasion to develop sexual desire, may not be a true asexual. I think his sexuality is just a big question mark, and as he said, the lack of sexual desire allows him to be better at achieving his true goals.
Great reaction and an epic episode - I remember it well. Peter Dinklage secured the Emmy win from that trial performance at the end. He won 4 Emmys overall in his time with GoT which is a record for the supporting actor category in a drama series. Just an amazing actor.
That violin music when Shae arrives was played during Sansa’s and Tyrion’s Wedding night. It’s beautiful; what does it mean? Notice that every time Oberyn is seated, his body language shows that he is disinterested. But after Tyrion’s epic speech, his nonverbals show the opposite! Like a 180 degree turn in his behavior! Peter Dinklage should have won an Emmy!
Go get your Emmy, Peter Dinklage. Amazing scene of all time. When he stares down Tywin, you can feel the hatred between them oozing in your soul. Just fantastic acting.
Yeah, Tyrion’s speech at the end was so fun, and even though he’s saying things that aren’t necessarily in his best interest, it’s SO satisfying. Because he hated Joffrey just like we did, and he felt happy at Joffrey’s death, just like we did.
No spoilers but the second half of this episode- from the council meeting just before Tyrion's trial all the way until the end of episode 10 is not just the best of thrones but some of the best tv ever... prepare to be blown away.
There are some great actors and great acting scenes within GoT - Tyrion's trial performance ranks among the very best of them. Alfie Allen's performance of Reek is another top ranking performance well worth mentioning. Dany's rule over the old masters was a bit across the board. She lumped them all together as guilty. These masters were born into a cruel system. As we found out, at least one of them (probably more) wished to break that system but simply did not have the power to change it.
You have to remember, the first time Theon was escaping, Ramsey tricked him and punished him. Ramsey has Theon’s mind so twisted, Theon couldn’t tell it was a REAL rescue and not another trick from Ramsey. So he fought against his sister and bit her.
I believe the word you were asking about is Usurper. It means someone that takes power illegally. Since Robert wasnt next in line and took the throne by force he was technically a usurper.
Ladies and gentlemen, Peter Dinklage … and Alfie Allen. Tyrion’s rage and Theon’s agony as Reek may be the most striking portrayals in the entire show. Love watching this with you! Peace … Oh, yeah, the punchline for the pirate’s joke was “Bring me my brown pants” so that his men wouldn’t be disheartened by what may have come next! 😊
That last scene with Peter Dinklage was Chiefs Kiss; the emotion he showed was palpable, the words releasing years of frustration, resentment & anger, with the knowledge that with this action he undermined the plans both his father & sister. Tyrion no longer cared about his future & only wanted to strike back with all honesty at those that had ridiculed & hurt him his whole life. And he won. Cersei no longer had her curtain death of Tyrion. Tywin no longer had his bloodline as Jaime was no longer bond to his promise to leave the King’s Guard. Masterful scene - Emmy winning performance 💋 Now all Tyrion has to do is win his duel to live to deliver his kick to the groins of Cersei & Tywin.
It was a very long ship ride from the Iron Islands (upper west coast) to the Dreadfort (upper east coast) around Westeros to around Dorne and up the Narrow Sea.
A "usurper" is somebody who takes a position they're not entitled to. So from the point of view of the Targaryens, Robert Baratheon "usurped" the crown from them.
usurper is when someone/family takes the thrown from the rightful king/queen/family… they have usurped the throne and the penalty is death… the starks, lannisters and baratheons together usurped the thrown from the targaryens.. that is why danny is on her way to take it back
Hey Amber. Have you seen The Lion in Winter? It’s based on a real life game of thrones. Henry II had his crown constantly contested by his wife/queen. She used their sons to do this. One was John (Lackland.) So-called because he owned no property. Another son was Richard (The Lion Heart.) It feels more like a play than a movie, takes place around Christmas. Great performances all around. Thanks, bye 👋
You'll never convince me to feel bad for Reek. He had children burned. But Alfie played a broken beat dog masterfully. The body language, the eye contact, he did very, very well.
I often think " Oh that Ramsay Bolton has no redeeming qualities".... But then we see him without a shirt on, and I'm like " okay maybe he has one redeeming quality"

Hey grl hey, hope every one is well. Im prob going to get some hate for this. Tyrions trial showed me exactly what I thought of Shae and he gave the best speech in the show. 2:12 I looked up the definition of usurper on Google... a person who takes a position of power or importance illegally or by force. "a usurper of the throne" Funny, it even has the picture of King Robert Baratheon on the side.
Yep. I didnt comment about it last episode, but 163 people who we do not know at all. She could have gotten justice with 163, but ask some questions, talk to the slaves. Take the 163 people who were known as vicious and those who would cause her rule the most problems. The worst possible luck would be 163 people who had been fighting for change and would be willing to work in a new system and have the resources to help while allowing the worst possible people to undermine her.
Peter Dinklage was just a masterclass in acting during the trial scene which won him the Emmy. But the outtakes of that scene are even better as it shows him dancing up to the barrister in his chains acting all goofy and Charles Dance with his always ever-present straight face in every scene he plays couldn't stop laughing. So picture a tyrant sitting on the Iron Throne buckling over laughing at the antics of the outtakes. Chef's Kiss there. But you are about to come across the scene that GRRM wrote to pay homage to The Princess Bride (which he even admits he borrowed from). If you recall, when Tyrion was on trial at the Vale, he also called for Trial by Combat since he knows he can never get a fair judgement in his world being a man with a severe disability that in their universe relegates him to jester roles and acting and cannot fathomably compare to his skills and talents as a master statesman. A trial by combat allows him to pick a champion in his stead and if his champion wins, he is set free, acquitted of all charges and can live on in life.
Theon was not just tortured, he was brainwashed, traumatized, and abused beyond belief. A person under constant torture will do or say anything to stop the torture. Even at the cost of their own morals, beliefs and even their own personality. Theon has nothing but pity from me at this point in the story. What Ramsay did to him was unthinkable and unforgivable.
15:20 I think the word you're looking for is "asexual" (sometimes shortened to "ace"), but in this case it might be because he was cut before puberty. Not sure.
Ramsey actually smiled at seeing Theon c*ckless, before Theon took his bath !! SMFH Disgusting !! I know there's a lot about the Theon character to dislike, but to see a character BROKEN like a Master breaks his slave is heartbreaking to watch .. But Theon's story arc has Not Ended yet !!!
So the same shows every channel has done over and over? Can we get something a bit different. Watch legion. Barely anyone's done that and I guarantee it'd get views
@@Chriswallace0405 Except for Ozark, these "same shows" drew a large viewership AND were also critically acclaimed. Not a lot of TV Series check those two boxes .. This episode is recognized by many fans as one of Peter Dinklage's best performances as Tyrion. It's certainly peak Season 4 entertainment. Amazing scene and cliffhanger!
Huge fan of this show, and now yours Amber. When I started watching (finally began getting the movie channel), this was the current season, first being broadcast. I always remember how mad I was at myself for being wrong.
The dramatic scenes and dialogue at the end of this episode almost makes you forget how uncomfortable the first half is to watch! Theon's utter despair and brokenness, Danaerys's rash actions and their consequences, everyone testifying against Tyrion as well as his own father's treatment of him ... I could see you squirming in your seat, Amber! Still a great episode though, and a knockout ending!
14:43 Hey, Amber, it might interest you to know that the actor who plays Oberon is Pedro Pascale, who plays the title character in the series "The Mandolorian," which is another series you might find interesting

Alfie Allen playing Theon is just masterful ❤ great acting
Ironically, not commenting on his acting might be the greatest complement Amber can give. You don't see an actor, you see a broken man.
Not only did he side with Ramsay, but he also killed John Wick's dog. Not always making the best decisions!

Theon's utter despair and brokenness, Danaerys's rash actions and their consequences, everyone testifying against Tyrion as well as his own father's treatment of him ... I could see you squirming in your seat, Amber! Still a great episode though, and a knockout ending!
Poor poor masters😭😭
'littlefinger is the murkiest' your foresight is amazing.

Hey, Amber, it might interest you to know that the actor who plays Oberon is Pedro Pascale, who plays the title character in the series "The Mandolorian," which is another series you might find interesting
