  • This video describes a method of setting up a stratified random sampling design using ArcGIS Pro. The example in this video is for counting the number of individuals of different plant species within a large plot of land, however the same approach can be used for setting up a variety of biological, archaeological and other types of investigations. If you would like us to help you with your sampling design, or help you with your project as a whole, please reach out to us at Big Pine Consultants LLC! We are here to help! I do have several point features having rainfall attributes. How can I select random points that are not autocorrelated?

Sorry I just saw this comment a year later. I am not 100% sure I understand your question. It sounds like you have points already, you don't need to create new ones. The points have rainfall data. You want to pick random points from the existing set of points? If so, you can simply use a random number generator or table and use that to pick the ObjectID numbers randomly. Select those from your table. If it is a large dataset, you should check out this thread community.esri.com/t5/data-management-questions/how-can-i-randomly-select-a-number-of-point/td-p/299569
