do yourself a favor and dont. the si and especially the gti is MUCH nicer not to metion the focus is slow af compared to it especially when you start to mod..
or if not the 04 3.5 nissan maxima
they made an se in 03 that had the 3.5 and a 6 speed to, bad ass sleepers, but good choice stay away from the svt focus, its disappointing in every way except it has decent handling.
if a svt focus because it's a money making they only make a few that's why
svt normally did a great job on everything except the fuckus, focus sorry

FYI MK5 GTI was more than a good match up for an SVT. It would take a few bolt on parts to ensure your car would be faster.
The ST is on another planet performance wise compared to an SVT and FYI a base ST1 is only about 400lbs heavier than an SVT with almost 100 more hp and 150ft lbs more tq.

The focus svt is crap for straight line driving, especially from a stop. The place where it shines is in the twisty roads.
SVT should have done more to these cars...
They definitely focused on handling...which it does extremely well! Yes, straight line it isn't real fast. But the power it does have, matched with the impressive cornering feel and stability makes it a blast to drive and it feels quick in the twisties. There wasn't a whole lot more they could have done motor wise. It already got a compresson bump, forged rods, variable valve timing, improved head, longer duartion cam I believe, variable intake runner tubes, and exhaust. It's a stout little car for what it is and what it costs. I love mine.
When this car came out it was beating every other hatch back available.

I concur, these wheels are from the European SVT, but painted. I prefer the earlier 5 spoked wheels, but do like the Recaro seats more & the headlights

+AC28 what he is saying is if you know how to drive a clutch don't mean you can drive any clutch. 150lbs clutch is a tuff clutch that is very hard to drive
