Its because 90% of her questions were just restatements of previous questions that he had already answered YES to. In his earlier testimony he said he has Regular contact with the CEO of Bytedance, Then he pivots when he is cornered and says he does not have REGULAR contact with the CEO, He also stated that TikTok does not communicate with the CCP it does however communicate with its parent company BYTEDANCE which is owned by the CCP. He has been using doublespeak for his entire testimony, Its funny because at the 3:05 mark he testifies that he had not seen that memo... Yet he testified that he Authored the memo in earlier testimony. The guy knows he has to tow the CCP line but he also knows that if he outright lies to congress he is screwed. He is in a no win situation either way he turns.

The have some of the same issues. The biggest issue here is the CCP can influence what posts are shown/not shown. Look at the psychology of subliminal messages. There is a real threat that an opposing country or political group could significantly impact public opinion on many issues or even work to purposefully create a mental health crisis. Look at what is promoted in Chinese TikTok vs USA. But that would require you to not solely get your news from TikTok… a little research before saying they are the same. If I have an American made computer and a Chinese made computer, which is more likely to be an easier target for the CCP to hack? Same thing, except this is software, where the data is currently still accessible to the CCP
The parents are also responsible...if you allow a child unlimited hours of unsupervised access to internet/phone applications, where all types of deviant and degenerate behavior is easily viewed, this is what can and will hapen sometimes...the parents are more to blame, than ANYONE

If the content isn't reported and reviewed by a human or contains elements in the text that can be detected by machine learning for violative material. it is very unlikely this content will be immediately taken down. This happens across all platforms. If the people watching this have no issue seeing it and do not report it, it will take more time for the content to be on TikTok's radar to even know that it exists in the first place to take it down. I see a lot of ppl saying this but each speaker in the committee has a limited time to speak which is why they ask yes or no questions, because the responses are a part of their time.
