Hi Helen and Dave sorry I missed this video originally as I have been struck down with a chest infection and been in hospital myself thankfully I am now on the mend!! Glad you two are as well It looks a great site love the location and the space between pitches looks somewhere you could relax and do as much or little as you want love the restaurant the food looked great and understand your comments about leaving dogs behind when you go to the club It is interesting on the site we stayed on in Cornwall this year dogs were allowed to go into the club and were quite a few who went in even in the cabaret bar which surprised us with the loud noise but great to see dogs treated fairly Hope you are both recovering well love to you both Daniel Victoria Joseph and Ollie
Hi Daniel, Victoria, Joseph & Ollie, this is a cracking site and one we would definitely recommend. The dog policy is a strange one but it is what it is. Delighted to hear you are recovering well. Stay safe, Helen & Dave
After sampling going across the channel twice this year we’ll never have a long holiday in the uk again. It’s easier to just say everything across the channel is much better. A week in Cornwall in the summer we were quoted upwards of £1000. 15 days in France with ferry and a site on the med coast less than £700. Christmas 7 nights in Scotland over £1000 10 days in Belgium with ferry just less than £400.
Ain't it always the way Lee. Pretty sure we would have tried a few trips into Europe by now but Bella is allergic to the jabs that she needs to travel but one of these days for sure. Hope you have a great Christmas and thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Thank you for this video. Another trend I've noticed is charging for an awning on a site that has metered electricity. I can understand the charge where electricity is included because some people like to heat their awnings with electric heaters but, not on a metered pitch. I tend to avoid sites that charge for awnings though in case I decide not to use it or have to take it down due to the weather. We haven't got a dog but, charging a fiver a night for one is just taking the Michael.
Hi Steve, you’re right, that’s another we’ve encountered a few times and with extra persons, fogs & awnings it’s suddenly ratcheting up the price!!! Thanks for watching & sharing. Best wishes, Helen & Dave 😊👍
We love your videos, and we watch them regularly. We have visited Norfolk from Scotland for years on holiday, staying in holiday cottages with our dog(s), mostly through East Ruston Cottages who are excellent. But we now have a caravan and we would like to go back to Norfolk with it. Have you ever been to Manor Caravan Park at Happisburgh? It looks really nice.
Hi Christine, many thanks for watching. We know the site at Happisbugh but have never stayed there. We recently stayed in the next village just a mile away at Walcott at a fab site called Nelson’s Patch, we did a video from there a few weeks ago and we visited Happisburgh Owls & the Lighthouse. Hope you’re enjoying your caravan. Helen & Dave 👍
Good point Gail, a lot of caravaners take dogs away so that is quite a lot of extra £5's per night extra (in your case £10) great site though. Take care, Helen & Dave
Good morning/Bonjour!, thanks so much, those opening clips were from the Norfolk Broads which are on our doorstep and by the Clippesby Hall campsite. Hope you're well. Helen & Dave
I’m visiting here next weekend for the first time so was thrilled to see your video pop up today. Glad it looks as nice as we thought it would be. Thanks for sharing
It all depends what you want from a site. I am a member of both clubs and am very happy your the network of sites that are available across the country. Prices have gone up over recent years but so has everything else.
Quite true David, life is all about choices! We remain members of both clubs but just not seeing any real benefits of an annual membership as in our opinion many of the sites are quite dated. The good thing is, there are lots of them and some of the CL’s & CS’s are excellent. Thanks so much for sharing your views, always appreciated. Helen & Dave 👍
Hi you two, great video again. Love the drone footage at the start, and a great looking site. Very lucky to have that on your doorstep. That beef looked amazing, as did the pork crackling, the beer?, not so much lol. Thanks for sharing again and enjoy your time ;))
@@stewchesman5259 hi there Stew, hope you’re well. Great site and an enjoyable weekend which as you saw did involve lots of food & drink. Sunday lunch was very nice. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave

No dedicated dog run nor are they allowed in the club, so what do you get for the £5? They may as well be upfront and say they don’t want dogs on the site.
@@connorefc Hi John, it’s a real shame and the only negative about the site. Pitch price is fair and the facilities are excellent. The charge for Bella is a bit OTT though. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Dave and Helen, what a lovely looking site, I think it's rather expensive at £5 PN for Bella, when most sites only charge £1 or £2, but hey it was still cheaper than the club site and you were there on the weekend, albeit at winter time. I really must start going further afield next season. All the best and safe travels, Neil
Hi Neil, absolutely agree! A fiver seems a bit odd but the site is superb and the pitch price and facilities are excellent. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave

Yeah, more reasonable price and superior facilities. The beer was pretty good but not sure I could drink too many in one night 😂. Hope you’re both well. Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Helen and Dave, Nice to see you back out in the van. That's again looks a cracking site and great on site facilities 😊. £5 a night seems a bit steep with no dog walk or allowed in the club, as Helen said maybe a part could be dog friendly like at eye kettleby lakes🤔. Spotted our little friends again 😊. Is this your last trip or are battling through the cold 🥶. We have just returned from a very cold Hawes CAMC and our external waste pipes froze -7, thinking of lagging them. Kirkstall brewery is local to us. Have you tried Badger Brewery they do some great IPA drinks. Take care and travel safe 🙏. Paul and Joanne 👍 ❤️
Hi Paul & Joanne, we love our little friends, they fit perfectly on the front there. Worth a visit to Clippesby when you're next in Norfolk. It'sbeen freezing here in Norfolk too but we were home by the time the really cold weather hit. Not sure when we will be out next, watch this space! Will have to give the Badger IPA a go, it's on the list. Have a good weekend and thanks as always. Take care, Helen & Dave
@@Meggy6571 if they haven’t got a dog walk, thats a bit of a stopper….weve been to a site in Gloucestershire with a dog walk across the road and i fell foul (excuse the pun) i came in in the dark..and trod the stuff into our caravan…the dog walk was too much trouble and distance obviously..getting it off my shoes and our carpet was memorable…you just dont trust a site after an episode like that…
@griswald7156 Hi, We have just been away ourselves at a site with a dog walk. But once darkness falls some dog owners NOT ALL, use this an excuse to excerise the dogs on any bit of grass, if you get my drift.
@@Meggy6571 ive seen the errant behaviour at night and early morning, with a long lead on the dog ,hes sniffing all the caravan pitches, and at the point the dog has a butt clench ,they start looking for the North Star or the sunrise ,for a minute or so,then they remember their dog a quick whistle and off they trot
Just watched the video Dave, another good one. As you know it’s one of our favourite sites. I know they charge extra for dogs but no extra charge for humans, (up to 6)!! When we went there for lunch on the Saturday we were lucky to get a site for the New Year. Ronnie saw his mate who works there and told us about it. Shame about the weather on the Saturday though. 🥰👍
Hi Lesley, bet New Year there would be great! Another plus, CAMC sites charge extra per person too which just highlights that they are overpriced! Take care, see you soon. Helen & Dave
Hi nice video right her indoors on beer my mrs like s the smell ghost ship but hates the taste 😂 has for club site stayed at ferry meadows for autumn colours in nene park will be looking forward next year for private site like you review you get more value. For your buck nice one 👍
Cheers Ray, ha ha, Ghost Ship is deffo my numero uno but have been enjoying sampling the guest ales. We liked Ferry Meadows when we stayed early in the summer but the private sites we find are generally better value with great individual touches. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave 👍
Great video, I'm loving the 🍺 reviews. It's Kirkstall brewery, I was brought up in Kirky, and it used to be the Whitbread brewery. I'm going to try that , it looks like my kind of beers.
Hi Glen, thanks for watching. Give the beer a try, I didn't mind it at all but nothing beats my favourite Ghost Ship (so far) let me know if you try it. Cheers, Helen & Dave
I too really enjoyed the intro to this one. Another site to add to the list, love the facilities. What with your guest beers and Mac and Sarah’s Whisky of the month TH-cam is becoming boozy review central. 😂. I’m with you on a dippy egg Dave. The only reason not to put the milk in first is because you need boiling water on the tea leaves to get the full flavour. So with a teapot it makes no difference. Thanks for another brilliant show around.
Hi Sandra, glad you liked the intro and video, all filmed on the Norfolk Broads very close to Clippesby. Guest beers & whisky it’s all just a great excuse for a tipple 🍺. Lovely site at Clippesby and well worth a visit, anytime of year! Hope you’re keeping well and thanks for your ongoing support. Take care, Helen & Dave
Sandra and I think we will give that site a go if they are open on the 6th Jan.... Ps Dave where did you get the caravan pint pot please.. Wicked... Love to both, Dan and Sandra
Hi Dan & Sandra, checkout their website in the link in the description, pretty sure they will be open. Got the glasses a few years ago now from Norwich camping. Got a video coming soon from there, Crackin place sells just about everything for us campers & caravaners and it’s not far from Clippesby. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
We absolutely love this site, we had our summer holiday there earlier this year. We stayed in the Meadow. Bit further travelling for us, 4hrs from West Sussex but well worth the drve 😂
Another vote for the fact that club sites are overpriced. Like others we continue as members only to predominantly use CLs which are much better value for money and nowadays quite a few are fully serviced. This looks a great site only two hours from home for us. We have booked another of your recommendations, Old Brick Kilns for next year. We have just put our Caravan to bed for the next couple of months after a good deep clean. Our last trip was the Yorkshire Dales which was a lovely sign off for this year. All the best to both of you and don’t stray too far from the Ghost Ship! 😂👍
Hello again, there's a definite trend on peoples views and it's the CL's & CS's that keep a lot of people remaining members of the clubs. We think you will love Old Brick Kilns, a lovely, well run site. Ghost Ship will always be my favourite I'm sure but quite enjoying trying a few guest ales. Take care and thanks as always. Helen & Dave
Really enjoyed your video tonight, I don’t have a dog, but really think £2 a night is more than enough to pay for dog, they don't use any facilities after all!! Also liked your bike, not sure if you can keep it or you have to return it, but it's a nice bike!!
Hi Rosie, thank you very much for watching the channel, yeah £2 would be reasonable. The bike is really good, we do get to keep it but I think my grandson has an eye on it lol. Thanks again, take care, Helen & Dave
Hi Guys, Commented before about the ridiculous and rip off club pricing. £30 is the absolute sweet spot price & there are plenty of private sites at that price even in the summer. We are currently in Scotland and have paid as little as £23 full service & using plenty of electric as its cold!!!!!! ( site we are on at the moment charges £1 per dog per night but they have invested in a dog field)
Agree with you about letting dog into the main bar - could have a designated inside area, especially during cool weather. I liked the site but will not go again or recommend to anyone with a dog. I definitely do not want to be forced to sit outside on the uncomfortable chairs!
Hi Maxine, thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. That's such a shame because the site itself and the location is really nice. An inside area would be very nice for people with dogs, we know they're not everyones cup of tea but a lot of campers bring their dogs on holiday it's one of the reasons why they choose this type of getaway. Thanks again, Helen & Dave
Totally agree with you the club has overpriced themselves, the only reason we are still members, is because of the CL's. Most of the private sites we have been to, puts the club to shame. Support your private sites. Great video, thanks for sharing. Stay safe both of you👍
Hope you're both keeping well. A lot of people say the same, just keep the membership going to use the CL's of which there are some lovely examples dotted around. Agree that a lot of private sites are really good value and offer some great facilities. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
I have to agree you shouldn't leave dogs in a caravan. We went on a site and someone left 2 dogs in the van on Xmas day and they barked continually. When the owner returned they couldn't have cared less. That was a caravan motorhome site as well
Hi Linda, if Bella barked we wouldn't even consider leaving her in the caravan but we are very lucky, she is as quiet as a mouse unless the Amazon man comes. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
It seems a lot of people only keep their membership going to use the CL's and there are some lovely ones dotted about. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
We are aware that the pitch prices have gone up but we still think it’s worth £30 but the charge for the dog seems a bit hefty given they are not allowed in basecamp. Loved it nevertheless. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
Ha Ha Ha, do you know we met in June 1979 and I've been eating those types of breakfast since I was 3 years old! The statins keep me going lol. Hope you're well and thanks as always for watching. ATB, Helen & Dave
Hi Ronny, it's a shame because this site has so many other things going for it. We do wish they would consider creating an area where dogs could go in the club. We appreciate you watching and sharing your views on this. Take care, Helen & Dave
@ thanks ☺️ for the reply me and the wife really like the site and it’s a 3hrs plus drive for us from Yorkshire but we did not even see any dog poo bins on site and the £5 I think they hope people don’t bring dogs 🐶
@ yeah that would be good lol. Oh and Malibu with milk is really good, possibly one for Helen ,tho I must say I did feel a pit of a weirdo ordering it in a pub😂 thanks. Great video 👍
Not a dog owner bit it wrong to be charged for dog it the same with caravan and motor home club they charge for children as it per person why they are the future for caravaning 👍👍
Hi David, thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Must say we tend to agree and a lot of people are being put off despite the fact that overall we think a caravanning holiday still represents good value compared with other options. ATB, Helen & Dave
We love that site but don’t go now as they have doubled the price a night from £15 in winter to £30 we thought doubling the price in one hit was a bit of a mickey take sorry to say most sites are getting like that 😞
TBH didn't realise they had doubled the price but I bet more people are using an awful lot more electricity in the winter months. Compared with a lot of sites though, it's still great value. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts, we really appreciate it! Cheers, Helen & Dave
Been past that site 100s times dave and never tried it maybe one for the future food looked good pitch very nice I’ve just come back from naburn locks in York……..note to myself don’t go into York first weekend of the Xmas market it was mad 😂😂
Hi Martin, worth a visit for sure. We enjoyed our Naburn lock visit. Bet York is lovely in Christmas mode but can imagine it would be hectic. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
sorry guys, that is to expensive, but then for us we do not want or use clubs, and as for paying that for a dog its a no no at that price, but then again we are not interested in fully serviced pitches, all we like is hard standing and clean facility's. but it wouldn't be much fun if we all liked the same things.
Hi Merv, we think the charge for the dog is too much but we're quite happy with the pitch price and it was a generous pitch. Cheaper pitches were available but that's what we wanted. Completely get how a lot of caravaners enjoy a clean, quiet site without clubs, we enjoy those types of places too, especially in the summer. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave

Yeah, more reasonable price and superior facilities. The beer was pretty good but not sure I could drink too many in one night 😂. Hope you’re both well. Helen & Dave 👍
Would love to have a site like that 4 miles away from me!!
Hi Brian, yes we are pretty lucky to be surrounded by some great sites here in Norfolk. This is a wonderful site. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Hi Helen and Dave,
Nice to see you back out in the van.
@HelenandDave
👍🥰
@@Meggy6571 if they haven’t got a dog walk, thats a bit of a stopper….weve been to a site in Gloucestershire with a dog walk across the road and i fell foul (excuse the pun) i came in in the dark..and trod the stuff into our caravan…the dog walk was too much trouble and distance obviously..getting it off my shoes and our carpet was memorable…you just dont trust a site after an episode like that…
@griswald7156
Hi,
We have just been away ourselves at a site with a dog walk.
Beautiful site thank you for sharing video enjoy Helen and Dave
Aww cheers Helen, you always support the channel and it means a lot to us. Take care, Helen & Dave
Stunning site and great video once again, thanks for sharing 🙂
You're very welcome, we're glad you liked the video and always appreciate the support you give us. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
What an amazing site and must agree that the facilities and pitch price is very good. Another great vlog and a nice bike too. Chris & Steve 😊
Glad you enjoyed it and best wishes to you both. Helen & Dave
Love the videos. Try hop skip and juice from vocation, all their beers are really good.
Hi Jim, glad you like the videos and thanks very much for the beer recommendations, will keep an eye out for them locally or online. ATB, Helen & Dave
Hi Trevor, this place is very well kept and although it's on our doorstep we too would travel to stay here. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
This is our favourite site shame its not nearer us have a lovely weekend x
Hello Alison, it's a smashing place and we get there at least once a year (you should go more really). Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Aww that's really nice you get to keep it, and also gifting it to your grandson ❤ x
Hi Guys,
Commented before about the ridiculous and rip off club pricing.
Agree with you totally! Hope you're enjoying Scotland and managing to keep warm and stay safe! ATB, Helen & Dave
We were there last weekend. 😀
Morning, hope you had a great time at Clippesby, we really enjoyed our stay there. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Love the video, DAVE fantastic site so close 👍
Cheers Ronnie, there are not many sites that could compete with Clippesby! Hope you're getting on OK> ATB, Helen & Dave
We love Clippsby but totally agree about dogs in Basecamp.
We love it too, it's a strange one but we will live with it because the site is so good. Thanks, Helen & Dave
Nice video!🤩
Thanks! glad you liked it 😁
I'm with Helen regarding scrambled egg being separate from the toast, i hate soggy toast.
Agreed! you don't want soggy toast but I do like dipping it in my egg lol. Hope you're well and thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
I dont like it when they put the serviettes under the toast and you pull them out all greasy…
If you’ve got high quality china cups put milk in first as then it’s not subjected to the damaging high heat of the tea…
yes someone else told us the same on a previous vlog (might have been you`) lol.
We always go on C L s too No way are we paying over inflated prices to pitch for the night !
It seems a lot of people only keep their membership going to use the CL's and there are some lovely ones dotted about. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
We keep the membership for the magazine or in case we’re desperate for a stop..
This time of year 2 years ago it was only £18 for a pitch there, also real shame they don’t allow dogs in base camp
We are aware that the pitch prices have gone up but we still think it’s worth £30 but the charge for the dog seems a bit hefty given they are not allowed in basecamp. Loved it nevertheless. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
Helen was really surprised you ordered a full breakfast…how long have you known each other ?
Ha Ha Ha, do you know we met in June 1979 and I've been eating those types of breakfast since I was 3 years old! The statins keep me going lol. Hope you're well and thanks as always for watching. ATB, Helen & Dave
How did you meet ? Who said what to who ?
We’re going to this site….it looks lovely….
It really is worth a visit, we go every year without fail. Cheers again, Helen & Dave
Never used a club site never will
We rarely do these days Richard but there are so many great private sites. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave
I think id look for a local carvery…..the lion food looks gorgeous though…
The one down the pub was good. Nice to have the onsite facility though. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Looks a lovely site that
It’s spot on Brian. We’ll worth a visit 👍
Stayed here 3 times but sadly won’t come back due to the fact we can’t take our dog in the pub and also it’s £5 per night 😢
I was there last Wednesday 😂 we will cross paths one day 👍
Would you believe it, yeah we hope so, we can do a guest ale together lol. Loving your vids Ben, keep em coming. Cheers, Helen & Dave
Could our cat go into the club ?
Now that would be interesting. lol.
Remember don’t drink with your eyes 😂
Ha Ha, great tip Paul, thanks for sharing. Helen & Dave
That's caravan and camping club caravan and motorhome club making £300million a year so not surprising sad but ? 😮
Driving shareholder value will always be the priority for businesses like this but if targets are not hit, something will have to give. (watch this space). Thanks very much for watching. Helen & Dave
@@HelenandDaveme and me partner went to family wedding spent two nights bed breakfast centre of Newcastle £145 per night 2 sharing = £290 did look for camping site but anne said no not getting ready in the caravan its a wedding not a night out on the p##s with the group 😅 so is the price of camp site expensive plenty to think about for all us touring caravaner or motorhomers
Nor Argument here lol
Ha Ha, loving your new family addition Dave & Lindsay. x
Not tight but £5 a night a joke 🙄
Hi Andre, hope you’re well. It’s such a great site but we can’t see why the £5 charge? A couple of quid would be more reasonable 👍
@ exactly don’t know why any of them charge but there you go
If i walked into a pub and asked for a Malibu and coke….they would probably enquire was i a gay boy ?
Tell you what though, it's such a nice drink.
You should try fermented soft drinks from “fentimans” Helen and yourself would go goo goo over those…
@@griswald7156 Helen has had them and likes them a lot. I should give em a go too. 😄
Clearly speeding there on the bike, tut tut......
No, top speed was 8 kmh on site, just under 5 mph. Hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers Helen & Dave
