I would like a video about Sprint mechanics. Specific drills to work on the various aspects of the technique. Videos of analysis of form would be nice too. So people could learn what needs to be corrected

As a former sprinter who ran track in high school, this brings back a lot of memories. I absolutely loved my coaches however I'll never forget the importance of staying as low as possible when coming out of the blocks and not having my body in the up right position until almost the end of the 100m.

I liked the steps at the end of the video. They gave a nice guidline for setting up trainig sessions that are going to work well!

We had a sprint coach for a couple weeks for football in high school. I still remember them reaching us different techniques to use in order to build and maintain speed.

The way that you highlighted the how to transfer one's strength training into their sprint performance through examples made it easier to understand. Thank you!

Even though they were out of order, I found the picture you labeled with the phases of the sprinting technique at maximum velocity to be very helpful!

I like how practical all of these concepts can be and how simply they can be applied. I also appreciated how the difference between agility and athlete's change in direction capacity. Thank you for all of this!

that is cool how they (tried) to show the sprinting phases, and I like how you make it very easy to understand. And I like how you mentioned that strength training is great but for power this won't do much. And where they are looking has such a huge impact on their performance.

I really like how you went over what all of the training goals should be when trying to train speed because that is something that I have been trying to work on so for me this was actually useful personally.

More impulse per step meaning the longer the step was super helpful in connecting all the steps. This video was very helpful in connecting the gym, in play sports, and sports specific movements that can be carried out in the gym.

There’s a lot to cover in this chapter, but one of the differences you pointed out that I didn’t know was between flexibility and mobility! I had always thought they were interchangeable but now i know flexibility is about the joint! Thanks for sharing

Always important to have solid technique when training. When you are considering proper technique and programming the plan to wrap around fixing different portions of the athlete will help make more of an all around athlete

  • @brysonhashimoto2878

I find it very interesting how mobility is a major part in speed and agility training. This is something I overlook when I train, but I now know that being able to get into deeper ranges of motion can allow my body to produce more force and ultimately get me to be faster and more agile.

I found the fact that watching a distance runner and a resistance athlete run at full speed would show similar mechanics very interesting. I had never thought about that before, and had just assumed that a distance athlete would be better suited as they have experience running.

I have never thought about training deceleration, this could be hugely beneficial to an athlete such as defensive back, who might need to slow down quick if a receiver stops and sits or breaks in a different direction.

  • @thomaskinzler

Going off of the point about agility not really being tested well, I wonder if there can still be good drills and other testing parameters for agility that would include a bit more of a sport specific stimulus while training.

  • @Adam.gates_
    @Adam.gates_ ปีที่แล้ว

It makes sense that for a resistance program to benefit sprinting, it would have to follow the principle of specificity!
