Bought 2 Googan jerkbaits yesterday, was super pumped to hit the lake this morning for some jerkbait fishing. Well, not one, but BOTH of them sank. They do not suspend like they are advertised. Actually sink really fast like a rock. That’s money down the drain.
Woah woah woah, a 6pound bass is very nice and everything but not compared to a 170… especially with a bow! You must be from up north, where the concept of big fish/big deer is opposite from me down here in the south lol

I feel like that's a valid topic, but it all just depends on how they're fighting you. Some will dive, some will bust the surface and try and spit your lure. I feel like that's just one of those things that comes with practice, personally. That said: a strong hookset, keeping constant tension on the line, and reeling fast enough but knowing when to relax on it (if you're using lighter line)
Any tips on how to get the hummer to swim straight? It falls over to one side and doesn’t swim right when retrieving. Any tips would be greatly appreciated
Make sure your wire leading to the buzz blade is straight. After multiple catches on mine, it kept bending the wire outwards, so make sure the wire with the buzzer is straight with the rest of the bait.
@@EvanTV. that’s the thing. I haven’t even caught any fish on it. Out the package it won’t swim straight. I’ll double check again but if it’s straight I guess I won’t be using a buzzbait 😭
I have a hummer also, seem to have the same issues. 9 times out of 10, it’s because the wires aren’t completely straight. Even straight out of the box, some lures may still need some tuning. I’ve also noticed tho, that the hummer only seems to roll over when reeling too fast. So try bending the wires and/or reel slower. Hope this helps!

"A frog always gets a big bite" I caught a probably 12oz largie on a Spro frog today who absolutely inhaled the thing. Idek how he got his mouth around it to be honest. You're not wrong, LFG, but any size hungry bass will hit a frog if presented right, and that all depends on what their preference is in that body of water (fast, slow, walking, popping, long/short pauses, etc)
I honestly feel if the googan squad was only LFG, Jon, and Rob they would get so much more respect from the rest of the fishing community. That being said, I don’t have to be a fan of the whole squad to be a fan of all their baits, I’ve never had a turn me off issue with any of them. I won’t be getting the rods, just because I have a rule of thumb of not buying rods or reels from bait companies. I feel the same way about Lews rods, that’s not their expertise

The black buzz bait has been my go to top water lure the past month and has really produced well
