In this Enshrouded guide on where to find the best shield for your warrior build, includes a full walkthrough tutorial for the Mistbury Catacombs location walkthrough. I will show you all 4 button locations to unlock the secret shield location. This location is also tied to the quest: The Queen's Tomb, its possible to get the shield early and then complete the quest again later for additional XP so you can level up fast in Enshrouded.

Actually if you climb the mountain the tomb is on you can just drop down a hole from the top directly into the queens locked burial chamber
Excellante on the info, maps, locations how to get there.....tyvm. It took me 4x to finally get all 4 sqares to open the final door to the shield.

These series of videos are great. Currently playing Baldur's Gate 3 so I won't be getting into playing Enshourded anytime soon.
Both a brilliant games with more freedom than most other games of their kind. just played the 20 year ol vampire the masquerade bloodlines again, which is another gem^^ after 2000h of bg3 (since first beta+release versions) i needed a little break from it but i play it again for shure.

you can drop from top of building into casket room, just need to climb mountsin side.

You can actually climb to the Mountaintop by using a little terraforming and approach the whole area from above. You can set a wayshrine on top of the Tomb and from there you can jump down directly to the sarcophagus. Log out - Log in jump-glide down again and loot the shield again. i did that 10 times and it seems to only drop as a green item^^
There's also a hole in the roof you can drop down through into the final chamber. I found it by accident when I landed up there.
5:16 If you go to the 2nd button, turn left, jump over the deadly red goo, go right through the hole in the wall then look up there's a grapple point which skips the climbing part where you died.
When i was exploring that quest area yesterday I didn't even spot the entrance, i thought it might be on top of the mountain but didn't want to spend forever to work my way around some eventual path so using double jump and glide and spamming both a lot i managed to slowly glitch my way all the way on top of the crypt. It was then that I realized that was probably not intended because you just had this huge flat floor (or rather roof in this case) Area with lots of holes and breaks to provide illumination below. Walked around a bit until I spotted a bit that was off to the side, looked down and sure enough, there's a big coffin that just cried out to me to open it up. Jumped down, opened it, got the shield - but then I realized i was stuck because the door was still locked obviously as I hadn't hit any buttons. The game did let me fast travel out of there though so I just went back to base in the end... probably will go back though just to pick up any stray chests etc
tl;dr: you can also jumpspam up the mountain and go through the roof (might need doublejump though), be warned, you need to fast travel out then
this game is amazing
I managed to get into that room you mentioned. I stood on the chest and double jumped up there. It took a couple of tries. After chipping away some blockage with my pickaxe, it opened up to room with nothing that I saw. I may of missed something though.
After that, I went up to the Scavenger Hiill. I managed, after just one death to kill the boss. Her head is needed for a level 3 flame enhancement. All I need for that now is 9 salt.

I did it by diggging a ledge to the left into infestation while standing on chest. You can use a granade to do it faster.
I double-jumped, glided then jumped again midair :-) Lot of trouble for nothing
You can also climb on top outside building and go directly on Chest room from above and enjoy loot
It does dive if you push forward (only if you have released it post run and jump though), unfortunately you cannot hold back and climb though.
Due to a bug the door didn't open for me as I was there but if you make your way on top of the mountain you can just drop through the roof and teleport out without setting one foot into the rest of the catacombs 👌
In fact the game offers plenty of these workarounds and I love it !
If they add more music/melody in the game, I'd probably never save'n'quit. I love the soundtrack; I just wish there were more tunes.
I was able to get up to the secret ledge that you’d mentioned in the video you asked if anybody knew how to get up there I figured out mining the fungus on the wall got it, but it was pointless because there was nothing there

Don't know whether I just did something wrong (triggering it), but right when I wanted to activate the last button, I was attacked by some hovering wright kind of thing that almost killed me.
That was a unpleasant surprise.
You can place a Flame Altar before the door , hack tru the stones to enter , get the shield = the eazy way
8:00 I died here falling into the red goo (lava). Then I died 10 more times trying to retrieve my bag full of valuable loot cause it was hanging above the red in an unreachable part... I even had to pickaxe to get closer. Don't feel bad about dying once 🤣
Bro you can just climb onto the roof of the mountain and drop through the hole, it on the raised part of the roof drop right down and grt the sheald

7:43 To get up on the platform above the chest: double jump from top of the chest than spam jump to open the glider and jump again midair 😀
Not worth it, there's only a mycelium growth there that I got stuck on. Had to dig out.
I do have that shield as well.
The pathway above your head there at 7:41 is a dead end. Just overlooks a red lava lake shroud thing. I ran in and out chipping away at the mycelium until I could get a spot to jump to the ledge then I hollowed out the tunnel there and has nothing at all in it. Just a view.

I managed to put a flame altar in a mountain south west of the ceiling of the catacomb. I can get into the shield room but can't get out without fast travelling
or you can work your way to the top of the hill and go through the hole in the roof to the queen's coffin bypassing the entire dungeon like I did after not seeing the 3rd button high up on the wall.
It's the Matron I've died to a half dozen times. You had a better shield, weapon, armor and a technique, the blasted hole. I'll give the hole a try. The rest can wait till I've killed the Matron stuck in the hole. Or not. 😮
The first wood sheild you get to craft the moment you start the game is fine for enemies upto level 23, you can easily just hold sheild up in block postion to counter any attacks they do other than area magic damage. A better sheild with at least 12 block is sufficent to kill any enemy, bosses in game used in conjuction with at least minimum level 12 wand. Sheilds really need to be nerfed and combat balanced whilst still in ealry access.
I can now craft the Valiant Shield (+4 block +23 parry) but I will loose the +25 health. Should I keep the Pikemead a bit more ? Thx
What are the blocks meaning. Is 6 better than an 11 block? I'm a little confused

We're waiting for one more mod to get updated, then we can update it. Normally its just a waiting game until the mod creators update for the most recent patch, sorry about that.
3:11 inside Catacombs
My gliding is atrocious, it always seems to go almost straight down, I maybe doing something wrong but don't know how to make it any better, I have noticed there is an upgraded version so maybe once I get that I will glide further.
There is 3 upgraded versions plus another legendary called the ghost glider but yea the starting one u make is dog shit and they get better plus u need to invest in the assassin tree it has stamina reductions and a skill called gust of wind which is mandatory for gliding

This is arguable not the best shield. There is a Hero Shield somewhere east, forgot where I found it. 10 Block, 35 parry power, no illumination or other buffs like HP with this one. So, there you go, arguably.
I just chopped the door to the tomb room instead of finishing the puzzles. It was made of wood. /shrug
Fun fact you could skip all the mechanics if you have enough grenades you can just blow the door off thanks to the game not blocking crit damage
Shield got nerfed, now only gives 8% srhoud protect instead of the health.

Game is so easy you can probably just beat it with start equipment if you want.
The crafted Valiant Shield is much better. Not worth the good looks.
