Great review, certainly the bonuses of winter is wearing your different clothing options and being able to light the real fire for that cosy homely feeling..
Ash I’m really enjoying your Chanel more and more each time I tune in , you had me smiling good today. I think I just might be a chap in the making . But I must admit I do have a Pleather jacket . Thanks again for your informative and real videos 🤗🤩
I have to say I really like your jacket, and notice the classic cut of your shirt collar which I don't see often these days, which is my personal preference especially with shirts with squares or windowpane designs as the cut follow the design/pattern rather than cut across. I see below you comment the shirt cost only £12, and agree style does not always cost a lot money to look good, yet can spend a lot more and look bad if you buy the wrong clothing.
Good video..at the 4 minute mark that was David Beckham...he has improved his sartorial Style which is highly appreciated by all....enjoy his week..peace
My friends think I'm nuts for having divided my fragrances into which season I think they are best for. Fall is my favourite season and look forward to more choices in what I can wear.
Absolutely, it's the best season of the year for the stylish gent. My cool weather fragrances are front and centre now the temperature has gone south a few notches.
Autumn is also my favourite season of the year, and the cooler temperatures lend themselves naturally to a world of grey flannel trousers, tweed jackets and trench coats, and felt fedoras and flat caps. At the local thrift shops I frequent, decent quality genuine leather jackets are a dime-a-dozen, and can be purchased for fifty dollars or less. (I agree that pleather is an abomination that will not age well, cannot breathe, and looks cheap from the first wearing.) I favour fragrances in the autumn months with hints of musk, spice, and sandalwood, and agree that scents with prominent citrus and floral notes are better suited to warmer weather. In the autumn, I love to add a tie, a pocket square, or a light scarf to my outfit that reflects the changing colours of the leaves on the trees at this time of the year -browns, oranges, yellows, and reds are the perfect colour palette for September, October, and November, in my opinion.
I love the humorous irony of displaying David Beckham as an example of someone who doesn’t pay attention to his appearance 🤣 …..love the reference to Steven Segall 👍🏻
Great video. Adding onto your advice regarding leather, many shops are now looking to clear inventory, as we approach March, and there are deals to be had, if you look carefully.
Great advice, as I do own a Tweed (Harris) jacket, and it like a force-field against the rain and cold wind _what rain and cold wind?_ Like the tie, is the image a bird, it looks like a seagul, _Blue Stratos_
My best leather tip is buy second hand in spring and early summer when prices are lower, new leather on an man over 40 cries out midlife crisis. Personally I'm old enough to associate perfumes with the lassies. By the time you've treated post-shave skin, waxed your moustaches, and oiled your beard, the last thing you need is another fragrance on top anyway.
Absolutely agree with your sentiments about leather - but as a non-whiskered chp, I consider a fragrance as an integral part of my dressing process, I feel naked without an appropriate fragrance.
Great video -- I've found that white v-neck undershirts tend to be visible through a white dress shirt e.g. at the sleeves. Do you have a suggestion for avoiding this?
@TheChapsGuide can I ask you opinion on wearing a cravat with a leather jacket? You mentioning getting the leather jacket out this time of year and reminded me I have lovely soft leather grey mandarin collar jacket, as I never go out the house without a tie or cravat on apart from taking the dog a walk. Also wearing a claret pure wool scarf with it?
Ash, I just bought a few pairs of Tweed trousers in the January Sale. Other than typical country style check shirts, is there any other shirts you recommend pairing them with? i think denim or bright coloured oxfords won't work
I favour simple poplin shirts in base colours with my own tweed collection, possibly augmented by a suitable waistcoat to add interest. Of course, you can never go wrong with a simple white shirt either, which will always look good and cross the boundaries between smart and casual. Good luck.
When talking about under-garments (upper) the vest (like) is correct, so people don't get confused with the Waistcoat (outer garment) I have always known for 50+ years a vest is like a singlet, (under garment)! Or a vest is like a sleveless jumper! But *never ever* a vest referring to a waistcoat!

Very true! Time to snuggle up and look sharp!

Thank you for the video ✋🙂👍
My pleasure 😊
Wahoo my tweeds are coming out.
Love that pink shirt your wearing What make is it please?
Finally another enjoyable video Thanks for posting
It is actually a Costco gingham dress shirt - priced at £12. Style does not have to cost the earth. It is indeed tweed-time again!!

Thank you kindly!

@@TheChapsGuide In my bare faced days we didn't need cologne, we had Old Spice. If the stuyptic pencil hadn't fully woken you, the Old Spice would!
Yes leather really has that ability to age a man a lot! Probably Suede or a Tweed jacket is a more flattering option for the 40+.
Greetings from Florida!
Hello there!
Invaluable! I use Polo Green in the Winter. What are your thoughts, please?
Great video -- I've found that white v-neck undershirts tend to be visible through a white dress shirt e.g. at the sleeves. Do you have a suggestion for avoiding this?
Try a grey undershirt. You would think it would contrast more then white and white, but it actually does a better job of camouflaging
Try beige or grey v-necks made of thin synthetic moisture-wicking material used in athletic wear.

I think it could work rather well sir.
Great video as always Ash. Would you wear a jumper under a navy blazer ?
If it was cold enough. Although if your blazer fits properly, you would not easily fit a jumper underneath.
@@TheChapsGuide I thought so. That’s great thank you. I am just about to purchase a new navy blazer. One that is really good quality.

Mate u wrong u dressing like 1960s! This is not for Autumn 2023!
