I SO love all of you backyard catskinners. Ill bet not a one of you could do anything with those machines. But keep on acting like you know it all. Whatever makes y'all feel better about yourselves
You're supposed to brake the pinion gear on the starter motor BEFORE engaging to the ring gear!! You could hear him grind it in!! I have a D-4 with a worn out ring and pinion gear, from just that type of stupidity! He doesn't know what he's doing!!
We have a D8 dozer with the cable blade on my family's farm. Worked great for my grandpa and still works great on a pull-behind scraper. We also have a D8K and D7H. Nothin runs like a Cat.
hey friend you had better learn how to start a Cat your much too hard on the pinion gear you should not grind gears like that you will break something for sure ! take lessons from someone that knows how to teach you properly .
don't need to on power shift as long as you're not moving wastes fuel and time decelerating and accelerating worked cat and Inter komatsu etc all at full tilt. try it sometime
I am told that the pressure drops back too far internally and it causes more problems than shifting at full tilt. Given the choice, I decel just slightly to say 3/4 throttle. But everyone runs their machine their way. I run it how they want me to.
All D9's had the turbo on the RIGHT side of the engine/hood. Stack also. D8H left side/center stack in the rear middle of hood. Besides nothing sounds like a D342 engine.
A good video. I enjoyed CAT. Thank you from Japan.
Nice to see that old yellow iron working. Thanks for sharing.

Like the old D8s, looks to be a 36a series D8H, hydraulics seem to be a little noisy! But the old 8 can still push a load of dirt!
That's the exact kind of dozer that made me get into becoming an operator!
He's got a lot to learn about starting and operating that old lady!
I love a machine that's motor has it's own motor to start it!

Gary Bullwinkle
your right and he has the throttle open dumping fuel in the cylinders before it should run on compression to heat up first! real dumbass!!
Gary Bullwinkle god

You act like you know it all. Do you really, or are you just pretending to make yourself feel better?
