In case someone else followed these guys' recommendation from another video and got rid of the lead module, here's how to set up a form which when completed will create a contact and a linked, new deal:
A prerequisite is that in your CRM, your contact module has linked lists (the things that get created when you add lookup fields) to your deals module.
    1. Go to Zoho Forms as this cannot be done in Zoho CRM Webforms
    2. Set up your form then go to integrations
    3. Select contact module, then go on and map all relevant fields from your CRM to the Forms fields
    4. Click integrate (on the very bottom) then go to the "related lists" tab at the top
    5. Select contacts module (seemed counterintuitive to me at first, too) then under related lists your deals module
    6. Again, map your CRM Deals fields to the relevant Forms field.
    7. Click integrate and test your new connection. Worked like a charm for me, hope it will for you too.
