This Was day 2 i was Leaving Goa India to Unknown Destination, for a Crazy mission to find Afro-Indians ( The Siddis of Karnataka ) in Karwar Karnataka Surroundings areas.
The Siddis of Karnataka (Kannada: ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಸಿದ್ಧಿಗಳು) (also spelled Siddhis) are an ethnic group inhabiting India. Members are descended from Bantu peoples from Southeast Africa that were brought to the Indian subcontinent as slaves by Portuguese merchants and Arab traders.[1] There is a 50,000 strong Siddi population across India, of which more than a third live in Karnataka.
Karnataka is a state in southwest India with Arabian Sea coastlines. The capital, Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore), is a high-tech hub known for its shopping and nightlife.
India, officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country, and the most populous democracy in the world.
New Delhi is the capital of India and a part of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. New Delhi is the seat of all three branches of the government of India, hosting the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, and the Supreme Court of India.

It is so weird that when European or American traveller go to another country, they show slums and poverty all the time. Here an african brother comes to India and shows how people across ethinicities live peacefully in a village harvesting and living a normal life. This is how most people in India live. And I am sure this is how most people in Africa and other third world nations live. Kudos to you for showing the village life in India.

Indian slums are generally better than American and European slums. Even police don't go to American slums. Indian slums are very productive, you could freely roam around Indian slums with no safety issues. Also, people in villages are generally living a better life than most of city dwellers everywhere around the world.

This newspaper story tells of a Jew from 1668 America. Solomon was listed as a “malata Jue“. The source tells us that the Englishmen of that time period thought the Jews were dark-skinned. The source then tells us in 1665 that a “respectable Portuguese Jew” in Jamaica was called “a black Jew“. The source tells us that F.L. Cardozo, a famous Jew in America during the Civil War time frame, was of Negro descent. The source also tells us that the term “mulatto” was occasionally applied to Spanish-Portuguese Jews.

The schools, farming, temples just feels completely Indian. It's nice to know that we have people of african heritage in our region but they are very much Indian to me. :)
A slight correction about the origins. Siddis were actually brought here by the Arabs in the Middle Ages. Arab traders brought them from the horn of Africa. Since then they established a base at Janjira fort. One of the Africans brought here Malik Ambar rose to the rank of regant in the Ahmadnagar Sultanate in Maharashtra. He fought alongside Shahajiraje Bhonsle, father of the Maratha King Shivaji Maharaj. Quite nice to see that they speak all the regional languages.

As a young lad, I remember watching it. I now live in Australia and share a lot of history with my friends. Sadly, not many of my Indian folks know about it. During my last visit to my hometown- Belgaum that's close to these villages, I thought of visiting them. Unfortunately, I ran out of time due to other commitments. The Indian Government had started a training academy to nurture athletes from the Siddhi community as they had the potential for it. Sadly, nothing much happened in this regard.

Telling somebody to feel free to ask you a question about your origin doesn’t mean you forcing your origin on him/her. In fact that means you acknowledge there’s some differences. Marwa and his sister Dee Mwango are trying to educate the rest of the world about how different and yet similar human beings are all over the world.

I am of Indian descent, born and raised in Kenya. Our language of Gujarati has changed to what is now called East African Gujarati because our language has many immersions of Swahili words, and is now considered to be a separating branch in the languages tree.
As you can see from the video, rural life in India is not that different than what it is in East Africa.
There is also a Siddhi community in the State of Gujarat. Their ancestors were brought there by an Arab Prince. They, of course speak Gujarati! Please go visit them if you get a chance, we would love to see them. Their ancestors all came from East Africa. ns
We are all the same underneath it all. There is genetic evidence that people from the East Coast of Africa travelled to Southern India, thousands of years ago, this explains why some South Indians have African features.
