*GYOTAKU* Japanese Fish Printing - (HOW TO)

- In this episode we bring a pomfret back to the dock and local artist Lisa Lee meets us and shows us how to make a gyotaku! This is traditional Japanese fish printing and a very unique form of art. A few days later she brings the finished piece back to my house after she embellished it and put her finishing touches on it.

Never heard of it before but it is super cool!!!!!
there are 2 separate ways these prints going.
the first way is as an art form. you can use color match the true color of the fish. treat it like paintings.
the second way is to use it as a fishing record. this one need something else, you need the fish species name, the dimensions and weight of the fish, the angler's name, the witness name, location of catch, date and number of copies printed (say,1 of 3, for example) list and sign on the printing. and the key are the fins. the number of spines on every fins had to be clear, just in case if any fish biologist use it to proof that fish really exists. japanese use these prints to compare fish nowadays and fish some two hundred years+ ago.
good idea to make add on value of the fish catch.

I've seen the Artist around, I remember somebody got slapped in the chest, no shirt on ,by a barracuda ,very similar to that artwork ? but it hurts.., dused to also see a Backcountry guide tdid that work too that was the first time I've ever seen it,? was about 25 years ago ?at the Lorelei.
