The nudity is a big difference indeed. In the spa nudity is mandatory due to hygiene. But also nudity in movies and on tv is quite normal in the Netherlands. I don’t get that showing even one (female) nipple is a big problem in the USA, but (gun)violence is absolutely normal to show, including to kids.

The nudity on screen has changed over the last 30 years. It was more accepted in the '70's and '80's.

When you're in a spa (a sauna) in the Netherlands and you want to keep your shorts on, you need to look for special days when that's allowed. Normally everybody is naked in a sauna here. Personally I don't see why some have a problem with that. There are only two kinds of people ... male and female. The only difference there may be is the age. There are kids and pensioners and everyone in between. After a few minutes you don't even see any nudity. It's there, but because everyone is naked it becomes normal. Someone wearing shorts there would stand out immediately.

The waitress looked angry so when my girlfriend wanted another drink I told her "Lets go to another place" Lol. After the second bar she figured it out and asked why I dont tip. My answer: If you want a better wage - go to your boss and/or unite (union) and demand better wages. Stand up for your rights but dont come to me begging.

I'm one of the very few people that's really open about my financials. And I also try to stimulate others to do so. I've had debts in the past, a lot. Being closed about it ain't gonna help you a bit. You have to open up and ask for help. Also, especially with co-workers I think it's really important to talk about income. It prevents income-inequality and it helps each other to know what they deserve. I actually only see positive side on being open about you finance.

I think the Dutch love to talk about money, even showing off. But they will never mention their salary and rarely prices. it’s all about ‘doing normal’, being cheap and exposing negotiating skills.
Yes, you’re going to Florida for 6 weeks, and you’re probably eager to tell me it was a one time offer. Yes, dear neighbour, I installed solar panels, but it was a ‘koopje’ and ‘terugverdientijd’ is only 7 years, you’re a thief of your own wallet if you don’t also buy them, better this year. Yes, I bought a great brand new kitchen, but I managed to negotiate 30% off the price and the dishwasher was free. Yes I have a shiny new car, but it was only that much ‘bijtelling’.

I did a spa long time ago. Good memories. Being trans and gay is still hard to handle for some groups. I am a tall dutch woman (1.89 = about 6 feet 2) with an androgenic appearance. Some dutchies are brave to ask (Are you a man or woman?). When i open my mouth you can see them thinking 'yea.. right' , 'cause of my low voice. The last 20 years i only feel more free in the Prideweek.. By the way i was born a girl. And still i am. If people call me sir within a question i answer them and mostly they say sorry. My answer is always; Don't mind, you didn't know though? My way of helping each other. Getting angry about misunderstanding doesn't help. I have learn that over years. But being openly gay cost me my job and that is still a taboo.

Not sharing, especially among co workers, how much money you make puts you as employees at a disadvantage.
Maybe everyone around you is making more money than you for doing the same work, but as you don't know that, your boss gets away with paying you less. Bonus points for a boss that makes you think you are payed better than your peers so you are even embarrassed to share that information.

As a Dutchman, I sometimes ask about salary. Especially people who work in the same field as I do.
I think it's stupid not to. How am I supposed to get a clear picture about what the possibilities are regarding salary if I don't know what others earn?
Most people I talk to about it are quite open about it as well. They won't start about their own salary, but if you ask, it's not so much of a problem. Especially if you state you'd like to know for your own good.

I've lived in NL as an (European) expat for close to 20 years now and I'll say this:
There's a huge difference - in my opinion - in what a Dutch person means when they say "how are you?" Versus, say a Brit, or an American. In most other countries it means "hello" and you do NOT answer anything other than "I'm good, how are you?". In NL, the first thing you say is hello. Then if the other person asks how you are they really want to know how you are. You can answer fully and they will be interested in your answer. Or you can just say you're okay and move to a different topic.
Spa's and nudity is great! The Dutch are really good at seeing you without looking at you if that makes sense. Sometimes it's quite obvious that someone is not Dutch because they stare. That's rude and they will be spoken to. Either by the person feeling the stare or staff.
Talking about money: you can but it's considered "low class" to talk about money, especially if you're doing it to show off. Don't show up in your brand new convertible, don't tell everyone how many carats that new diamond ring is... Basically, don't be Kardashian about your money. This is quit common in many other countries as well: just... Don't flaunt your money. If you want designer clothes, do your thing just make sure there's no logo anywhere too visible.

The ‘not’ tipping surprises me.. It is normal to tip, although the prices in bars, restaurants etc are included it is normal to tip about 10% or more. At least where I live, which is a tourist area.

I'm from North Brabant and definitely recognised a lot of the points that were brought up:
-always answering with " good" when asked how you are doing, as a social norm. There are some exceptions of course.
-not asking someone what their salary is. I know my best friends intimately (I have seen them naked multiple times, they have shared a lot of details about their personal life and their mental health) but I don't know what their salary is. It has also not been important for me to know though.
-transgender people are a topic of interest in my social circle. With some people being more positive and interested to know more, and others are more critical. Some had some big misunderstandings about what the term even meant 😅
-my close friend group initially resisted talking about politics, they were afraid it would lead to unpleasant discussions and disagreement. We did eventually talk about it and it was enriching for everyone involved.

the woman at 3:45, that is BS. I think the netherlands is 1 of the most open countrys about sex and talking about it. That she is from a prude group of people or a church person dosnt make it taboo in dutch society, just in her church society. And that society is prettymuch the same all around the world...
But the money thing is for real tho. Some jobs you arent even really allowed to talk to coworkers about what you earn. But that is probably because they dont want fights about someone earning more for the same job.

Dutch people are always fine, our culture is a bit more cold in that way, and we have learned to fix problem yourself, this is mostly for men.

They money thing is not the whole truth tho. If a friend gets a new job I would for sure ask, what does it pay. Nothing weird here, I also have had talks about welfare with people i know that live of welfare. No problem, it is not a light topic that you start when strangers are there. But just me and a friend can talk about things like money no problem. For mortgage talks I would talk with friends and family, just to find out what to do and how it works.
But it is not a pub topic, bit more serieus. Just like pregnancy, I would ask my sister or friend for sure if they are when i think they are.
It is more about bragging. We don't really brag about the money we have. One would drive a nice car and buy a nice house, but it is not something you would show off, you just have it. This makes it possible that a post office worker can have wallstreet friends. No problem.
